The trend seems irreversible. Young moderate and liberal Jews in America are increasingly embarassed to align with Israel as it slides deeper into Apartheid. The more Zionist Israel loses in the court of world opinion, the more right wing it becomes which just leads to further lack of support among their remaining supporters. Their only patron, the USA, will need to cut back on trying to occupy half the Middle East till it accepts Zionism. A boycott of Israel is gaining steam with artists, intellectuals and others. More and more countries are recognizing the Palestinians as a state and not waiting solely for the phoney Israeli/US "peace talks" as israel grabs more land. In the US it is becoming more possible to question whether it is in American interests to back Israel right or wrong-- being denounced instantly for anti-Semitism is beginning to lose its effectiveness. The majority of young kids born in Israel are born to Palestinian Israelis and or the Orthodox Jews neither of which want the two state solution albeit for different reasons The one state solution is gaining steam. It is doubtful that the best Hail Mary pass for the two state solution can bring it about. It is true that Euro Jew colonism of Palestine (Zionism) was no worse than Euro colonialism in South Africa, Brazil, Latin America or the US and Canada. The critical difference is that the colonizers in Palestine have never greatly outnumbered the native population and thus there will have to be an accomodation such in South Africa. The colonizers will have to give up their claim to privilege their religion and way of life over that of the still numerous local population. As in South Africa some will accept this and stay and some will immigrate to other countries. Great step. Lies bolded. Like I said in a previous thread, the negotiations were key, and everything post-negotiations is going to be perceived differently. It seems like the world agrees that you can't have negotiations about a piece of land while investing heavily and actively building on that land. It simply shows that you are not serious about giving it away.
Add Russia to your lists as another state that recognizes Palestine as an independent state....this is a big player, and def amps up the pressure on America.
China will be next. Right now, Western Europe and the US are holding up Palestine while Israel passively allows settlers to do what they love doing.
