when your starting center gets fewer rebounds than any other player getting PT, even your backup PG. Geez! What's up with that guy? Didn't see the game. Maybe the Rocks need to sign Rodman's second coming in Danny Fortson to share time at PF, so we don't need to count on our PG getting double figures in rebounds every night. We're beginning to look more and more like Seattle - a great PG and one lazy a##, overpaid talented center!!!! ------------------
This is why I don't want LAC's Taylor. The rockets do need to get another solid rebounder. With the rebounding from the 1,2 positions the rockets get, if they had solid rebounding upfront, they could get a large rebounding differential. Penders Philoshy, If you shot the ball ten times more than your opponent, you can miss nine more shots and win. You do this by winning turnover margin and rebounding. It would be tough to win with one of these falling in the rockets favor. ------------------ Moochie hear no evil Moochie speak no evil Moochie see no evil
Earlier this season I was pro-Mo Taylor. Now, I'm with Joe Joe...the guy is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY overrated!! My mother could grab more boards than that chump! One other thing, we need a center more than we need another PF. Unfortunatly the draft isn't going to help us much in that dept. ------------------ The lottery sucks!
I don't think it is that Cato can't rebound. He has the quickness, anticipation and bulk to get position and grab the boards. The quickness and anticipation is what make him such an effective shot blocker at times. I think his problem is that he is focusing too much on being a shotblocker which puts him out of position for rebounding. Rebounding and shot blocking are both work at the defensive and can't normally be done simultaneously. In that respect I think he just needs to mature and learn to pick his spots for shot blocking and focus on rebounding. Dream could teach him that. I would like to see him become a monster on the offensive boards. There is where he is really lacking in my opinion. ------------------
I guess my main question about him is he even in the game to begin with (mentally). I think a guy whose 6-11 and as athletic as he is, he should be able to get more than one board. It's not like this is his first game like this. From what I've read, both the fans and Rudy T are recognizing a lack of mental toughness in Cato. I don't know how easy that is to fix, if it can be. Man, if he could get it together in the head and work a little on his game, he could probably be the best non-franchise player center in the league. BTW, I agree with y'all's analysis on the PFs, esp. Mo. Don't know much about Trent, but he's undersized (like Kenny) and his rebounding numbers look kind of like Mo's. Fortson undersized, but he rebounds like a mother and has lead the C's in scoring the last two nights. Don't know if he's better than KT, but we could def. have a pretty role defined team. Cato - shot blocking, Fortson - rebounding, backcourt - creating, scoring. Don't know if that's desirable, but it's interesting. I still kind of like Kurt Thomas, FYI, if my impression of his game is right. ------------------
