It won't happen... but would Jerry Sloan be a good coach for this team?

The TNT crew mentioned how the Utah coach is just too old school for his young team. He thinks they are just tuning him out by now.

Of coarse this doesn't mean Sloan will quit and if he does, if he will be looking for another gig...but what if?

Would he be a good fit with a very receptive Yao and a Dynamite player in T-Mac?

More importantly... Could we accept the head of the once evil Utah Jazz????

If Johnny Damon can go to the Yankees and Adam V. go to the Colts,
    We can handle Sloan.

Sloan is the leagues most underated dresser. He always looks slick. And thats about all I have to add to this thread.

Man I don't know about Jerry Sloan. I definitely respect him as a coach but the thought of him as the Rockets coach kind of gives me a sick feeling to the stomach. It almost feels just as bad as placing Michael Jackson as a Kindergarten or Elementary school boys choir instructor.

I was wrong. The sharp wardrobe comment isnt the only gem I have to offer to this thread! Michael Jackson at an Elementary? Its more like in Uncanny X-Men 200 when Magneto took over the X-Men!!! Im obviously in 4am delirium mode!!!!! 2 papers due in 2 days. Its like when Hakeem dropped 2 quadruple doubles in a row but only got 1.

    Jerry Sloan is the Debil
I may not be a JVG guy but . .
I don't think Sloan could/would do well with Yao
    or
    many of our players
    I don't like SLOAN AT ALL . . .

While Osterboy is a big ole tub of goo . .
I think better coaching and he could have been a better player
[no Yao . . but servicable]
I think Sloan just tore the guy down alot

I would hate to see that happen to MY Rockets

If we brought in a new coach the only one that I think might be obtainable and work well with our system would be Del Harris.. I think JVG should be given one more year with a healthy team to see what he can do..

JVG will be back. If not, then Thibadeaux? Darkhorse: Adelman.

    Of course I, not exclusively but definitely I, thought Dunleavy Sr was a R - O - T - T - E - N choice to be a head coach ANYWHERE in the Association.

God, I would take anyone over JVG. He's holding this team back so much. Even if we hadn't had all the injuries this year, we wouldn't have achieved our true potential.

Sloan's been a HOF coach, but it was underplayed just how important it was that Malone and Stockton were his lieutenants. Without them, he's been tuned out by the new breed. If Ostertag tuned him out before, he still had Malone in his face telling him the same thing. Same thing happened with Rudy - as soon as his franchise players went from disciplined veterans to immature kids, it all fell apart.

right now im thinking anybody but JVG. (hmmm.. dejavu)

I admire Sloan as a coach but cant see him coaching the Rox. However, he has done something this year (albeit late) that JVG can never seem to do.

    ADJUST

against the Suns he decided to start his five best scorers and what do you know? they beat the Suns... Hey if Sloan can adjust his system recognizing the strength of his team so should JVG dont cha think?

Yao and Tracy's bodies wouldn't be able to take the flop-related pounding.

Sloan needs to have good actors on his squad. I think he should go and coach in the WNBA.

I hear they have lots of thespians.
