It was Steve's fault.

The wheel sucked...but JUST DUNK THE DAMN BALL STEVE!!! Geese. It was his fault. First off, the second I saw he was going to pass to himself I knew he was going to be too cold to get it right. Then...GIVING IT TO CUTTINO??? LORD HAVE MERCY ARE YOU KIDDING??? Just go attack the rack! It looks good when a short guy does that, so you don't need all that fancy crap. Damn. He would have won with some crazy backboard slapping orangutan dunks.

Well, first of all, his first dunk attempt would have been amazing if he had gotten it to go. I understand his thinking, because Wallace missed his first dunk, so Steve could afford to go for something fancy. On the second dunk, as I understood it, you were recquired to do something with a teammate, so he HAD to give it to Cuttino. Overall, it was a weak showing by most of the dunkers.

Thank god Richardson hit that last dunk, because if it weren't for that amazing slam, this would have been almost as bad as last season's dunk competition.

ooh...well I didn't know he had to it with a teammate the second time.

let's see...who would have been better..... yep, he should have used Moochie, because at least Moochie would have been nervous and tried harder to get it right. He might have even.....PRACTICED!!!

The crowd just seeing Moochie would have got them going, by the way.

I'll tell you when he should have tried that first dunk again...when he found out he had to to the Statue of Liberty. Screw that, he should have just gone for it with another dunk and seen what the judges would have done. At least he'd be on highlight reels.

Houston should just stop going to the All-Star game all together. Another embarassing night highlighted by Steve not even attempting the right dunk. I won't be watching the All-Star game.

What the hell did you want him to do? He can't palm the ball. Take it up only to lose it in the air and look like an ass to the common fan.

BTW I'm sure he could make that 1st dunk or else why would he have tried it. I admire his courage knowing the risk he was taking. If he would have got it, it would've been one of the coolest ever.

I don't care if Steve is never in the contest again. I don't want him to strain nothing. If no Rockets ever went to the All-Star game ever again and we won a couple titles, I wouldn't mind a bit.

Better to look like an ass attempting the dunk to the common fan than look like a p***y.

Not really. If he would've said f#*k it and not tried anything then he would look like a p***y. He tried something similar that was in his range. I don't see what his other options were. Do you? He was in a lose-lose situation.

The NBA should've added an option to the wheel spinning where the player has the option to spin a second time.

No way. He said he couldn't palm the ball, because his hands aren't that big. He did the right thing.

So he couldn't palm the ball, big woop. How about a two handed 360 down the middle of the lane? At least get the jist of what he was supposed to do.

He got screwed. Everyone in the building knew he got screwed. But if he tried something even remotely similar and pulled it off, he might have had a chance. He didn't even 360 on his dunk.

Oh, well. The announcers (Barkley and Smith dissing the rockets?) sure got on Cuttino (and Moochie and Steve) pretty hard when Steve went out for the teammate dunk.

Yeah, easy for you to say. The thing is, I don't think Steve can do some of the real fancy dunks because of his height, small wingspan, and small hands. I think what makes Steve's dunks so cool looking is simply how high is feet are off the ground. That one reverse dunk he did two years ago where he crouched in the air was incredible! It looked like he jumped off a trampoline.

This is the best I could do, maybe someone can find a better picture of it.
