That D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy, occurred. May the memories of those who lost their lives never be forgotten. ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
You lost a son in that war, didn't you Tex? ------------------ girl you looks good won't you mock that draft up?!
Nope, that was in the Spanish American war in the year of ot-somethingoranother. ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
Spanish-American War was 1898, I think. My grandfather fought in WWII but not at Normandy. He was in the French Army and was a POW at that time. He was put in a POW camp when the French surrendered. He escaped and went home but his neighbor reported him and he went back to the camp. He escaped and was captured again. The third time he escaped (Oct. 3rd, don't know what year) he stayed free. I don't know what he did to that neighbor of his. Anyway, thanks to my grandfather who didn't actually do much for the war effort and to the Americans and Russians who really shouldered the weight.
