No, not the request for him to resign. [IMG]

He started "Cat", I think that is a positive step for this team to develop an identity. May be he is checking this site out. [IMG]

Next thing Rudy needs to do is to practice on some high post offense plays. Don't rely only on one-on-one isolations. Teams will trap Francis or Cat in crucial times. It is very difficult to make a effective open pass when trapped outside. When Francis has the ball, they need to set picks for him by their 4 or 5. No team will dare to defend pick'n'roll with triple team. That will leave the low post quite undefended.

    My sarting line suggestion:
Cato(moves to 4 when Dream comes back)
Rogers(move to 6 th man when Hakeem returns)
    Anderson
    Mobley
    Francis

Rudy give this line up 5 games with both high post offense + Running game. You might be suprised how competitive they will become and how good Shadon will be. Look, Doc Rivers is doing it.

"Rudy, everytime you call a D-I-T for Hamilton, I will deduct $100,000 Dollars from your salary", say Les.

Caveman, I agree with you on alot of things and earlier today didn't know whether to keep Cuttino or trade him, but I think I have made my decision. He is trade bait at this point unless he learns to make better decisions and here is why.

Cuttino Mobley is an individualistic player. He just doesn't try and get his teammates involves. Its not just his fault because I think this team has 2 SG's and no set PG. How many times tonight, and in previous games have we seen Cuttino try and take his man one on one only to shoot a long range shot(usually a 3)?

True, sometimes he is able to beat his man off the dribble, but alot of the time he settles for a long range 3. He has yet to prove he is a true offensive weapon, meaning his shooting percentage isn't that great. He just does not get his teammates involved.

OK, the guy can be a spark to the offense, and if he learns to settle himself down and make wiser choices on the floor then I am behind the guy 100%, but over the past 13 months he has yet to prove he is able to do so.

I agree with you that Rudy should not rely on one-on-one isolation, but I don't think that is his objective. I think that is what the defense is giving them and 9 times out of 10 it is Cuttino that is trying to take his man one-on-one and not getting his teammates involoved. The guy simply does not pass the ball. He is a ball hog plain and simple. Regardless of how he played tonight, he tries to play his man straight up too often.

Now, if Rudy could mix in some picks for Cuttino, then I might have a different opinion, but I have yet to see that. The only times he takes wise shots are off of passes when Francis or Drew break down the defense or when Cuttino tries to take his man one-on-one...usually resulting in a 3-point attempt.

All in all, I think Cuttino is a good player, but tries to hard to dominate the game at times. He has alot of heart and determination and that may become an asset to this team, but its not going to happen with this roster with him taking as many shots as he does.

The Rockets need a go to man and its not Cuttino. They need someone that they can depend on...other than Hakeem. Francis isn't it, at this point, because he is too set on becoming the PG for this team. I honestly do not think he is the man for the PG job. He is too good to shoot AND distribute the ball. He is a scorer...like Iverson. Francis can be the go to man, but not as the PG.

Maybe Cuttino can take over this role as he did last year...obviously he isn't cut out to be the SG. Or Drew. He hasn't gotten many minutes at the starting PG spot. This is the time for Rudy to really shake things up. He has nothing to lose. Why not go for it.

If I sound like I am rambling it's cause I am drunk. I took a friend out for his 21st and got a little tipsy myself. Sorry if I don't make sense, but this is my honest...DRUNK opinion. Take it or leave it.
