Not to cause a stir............however with the record our Rocks have this year in close games (games decided by 6 points or less) it may be time to change the name of this site to "Choke City". By the way, quit bashing Nick Van Excel!!! A player of his talents in the clutch could help us to regain the pride of yesteryear. I am from Cincinnati and can tell you that there is no better competitor in the NBA than "quick" Nick. He is a legend up here and we should be so lucky that he would name Houston as one of his teams. He can be closely compared to Vernon Maxwell in terms of clutch play and team spirit. Y'all probably complained about Mad Max and his 40% shooting, however we won championships back in those days and that was in no short part due to his clutch play. If Van Excel ends up in Houston it will be the greatest move since the signing of Francis a couple of years ago. Only negative to Nick is the gut feeling that he may do drugs. Hopefully that is not true, but he still would probably fit in with the rest of the team.
Logic and simple math tell me the following: EVEN WITH MO TAYLOR OUT FOR THE YEAR, WITH A HEALTHY STEVE FRANCIS THIS IS VERY LIKELY A PLAYOFF TEAM! I've been frustrated like everyone, but for the most part it's not choking, it's just lack of quality depth showing up down the stretch. So you can take your idea and ........well, you catch my drift Dallas Rocket
Nick the Brick is an overrated gunner...Let him be in Denver....As for renaming this city Choke City, that doesn't even merit a response. Rockets will be back to playoff form next year..
I think you need to change your name from waltsucks 2 to ohmygodisuck 1 Why would we need Nick when we have Steve? You think he wants to ride pine behind an All-Star starter? The fact that you said we need to change the name to "choke city" is grounds for banishment......
I'm trying to remember. Was it the Chronicle or the Post that ran the "Choke City" headline? Or was the Post already defunct?
Choke to me is blowing big leads. Teh Rockets may not be playing up to par, but I don't think they've choked.
