Now that the team is pretty much completely out of it, I think it is time to:

    1. Play Biggio every day to get closer to 3000
    2. Play Burke every day to get more ABs and experie
    3. Play Luke Scott every day to find out if he is your starting LF next season
    4. Play Charlton Jimerson more often
    5. Give Burke and/or Bruntlett a real shot at SS
    6. Play Quinterro(sp?) and make Ausmus the backup catcher
    7. Play Lidge in the closers role - find out if he can come back
    8. Start Sampson, Hirsch more often and less Wandy.
    9. Start Ensberg at 3b for the rest of the year to see if he can rebound.

Start preparing for 2007 - come back strong and turn it around, but more importantly define your weaknesses and address them in the off season.

Who should they sign in the off season? The only thing Im looking forward to with them is the possibility of bringing in Carlos Lee (??????).

BRad Lidge needs to be fiered. I am TIRED of seeing Albert Pojuls hitting homeruns off of Brad Lidge EVERYDAY! Also Phil Garner needs to be fiered TOO! I HATE that guy! If Phil Garner keeps pitching BRad Lidge, HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED!

I Cant start a new thread because I am a ROOKIE ! Can aneone tell me when the eclections for moderartor are going to happen? I want to run for modrator because my goal has always been to be a modrator or a Houdton Chronicle writer!

seconded. Garner is a moron. While I respect the job he did in turning around the ballclub, this season his managing weaknesses have been exposed. NEVER PITCH TO PUJOLS IN A GAME WINNING SITUATION. And just because someone doesn't hit as well against lefties doesn't mean you should sit them out every time we face one (AHEM...MIKE LAMB). Also, it's okay to bench a player if he hits .148 since the all star break, regardless of who he is. Oh, and for Chirst's sake, please put Jason Lane on the bench permanently.

Please tell me you're still in high school. That greatly increases your chances.

I say completely revamp the team next season...from the manager down. These same old faces aren't getting it done.

I can't tell if this is a joke or not. If it is, kudos to you, RyanED. That was funny. If it is not a joke, kudos to you, RyanED. That was funny for a different reason.

Not even the great Bobby Cox could have saved this team.

If we drove Lidge into the countryside and dumped him there, would he find his way back before the end of the season?

Garner definitely should NOT be fired. His track record allows for at least two more seasons with the team.

I don't know what to do about Lidge. IMO, just switch him to a middle reliever. He is still good. He's just not closer material anymore.

    "Astros are done" thread #57.

You know what that means...five game winning streak!

Clutch does what he wants when he wants, as he should. Don't ever expect moderatorship to be a decision of the community.

Would even a 16-game winning streak save this team?

    Here's to 2007! Go Astros!

I certainly hope this is a joke because, if not, I'd be led to believe that RyanED had a stroke, assuming this is the same guy from the AD boards...

Why? It seems just as unintelligible as anything else he's posted.

He did forget to mention his AOL sports blog though. Hope he's ok.
