I have had my suspisions, even posted them here at Clutch City. Now I know. The Rockets are TANKING.

Take tonight's Caveliers game for example. Here we have a team gaining on us in the loss column, and it is a relatively close game.

So what does Rudy do, go to Hakeem as a scorer, go to Francis to try to close the gap, go to Walt who was Smoking hot tonight.

    Nope..nada...He plays Moochie..Rogers..Cato..Cuttino..and Gray.

What a HORRIBLE offensive and defensive team..and guess what...it worked...they lost....

Rudy, we have seen this before, but come on, be a little less obvious next time.

After reading ESPN's recap, it looks like a double tank job to me. Leading by only 7 points after 3 quarters, Cleveland plays none of it's starters the entire 4th.

Yeah and it back fired on the Caves, their bench players tried to impress and to the disappointment of the Caves Management succeeded.
Seriously is their a law/regulation pertaining to and prohibiting the deliberate throwing/tanking/losing of games???
Hope not as the rox could be in some serious trouble.

    those minutes seem pretty revealing:

28 minutes for Francis? I know he played 45 in Toronto, but he's only 22.

    They're tanking.

I didn't watch the game, but the first thing I noticed by both teams, at least according to nba.com, is that NOBODY on EITHER team got over 30 minutes. Folks, the US Army has never seen a tank battle like this. But wait... they were just looking at their young talent for the future, right? [IMG]

Rudy's not trying to loose. He's just not trying to win. He's simply giving some guys time to play that normally wouldn't. I mean, how many clutch time minutes are Moochie Norris and Devin Gray going to get in their careers? Who knows, maybe Rudy playing those guys more often could actually develop them a little and help them to find jobs later in their NBA careers.

WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... next year, at least. :(

Each team has played something like 4 games in the last 5 nights. I think that might have something to do with the dimished minutes.

    Anti, LHutz Fan --

Objective thinking is not allowed in this thread! What's the matter, you don't have a conclusion to jump to?

Awww... ain't that nice of Rudy. Help the little guys out. Tanking doesn't necessarily mean you are trying to lose games. It could mean you aren't necessarily trying to win games at all costs. If you're telling me Rudy's into givin' the poor l'il folk a shot at careers instead of outright winning games in the 4th quarter, then he's not necessarily trying to win a game.

LHutz Fan. You are correct, but correct me if I'm wrong: When you have a close game in the 4th quarter, and you don't play your starters as someone here mentioned, that's strange. In a close game, your starters are usually ALWAYS played if you are trying to win. You don't say "Gee, let's rest these guys up and not worry about this game".

Either way... lottery here we come. [IMG]

This is the Starting Lineup that the rockets should have. I wish they do.

    Kelvin Cato - 6'11
    Kenyon Martin - 6'8 or 6'9 .. whatever. [IMG]
    Rashard Lewis - 6'10..
    Shandon Anderson - 6'6
    Stevie Franchise - 6'3

Now tell me is that a wild team or what.
