thus furthering the proof that no player in the history of the NBA can shoulder the burden that is the Los Angeles Clippers
I'm sure it's more a precaution than anything. That kid's built like a tank - shoulder strains happen.
If Blake Griffin can lead the LA Clippers to the NBA Finals (and not championship, just finals), then I will declare him the greatest player ever
I so called that the day he was drafted... I said he'd never make it to training camp without being injured. You know this makes me feel better as a Rockets fan, at least we aren't as jinxed as the Clippers.
He had arthroscopic knee surgery at 18. The Clippers aren't exactly known for their health. Sterling goes cheap with his medical staff and injury prevention. I can't see him missing the whole season. It's still a question mark if both knees can last 82 game NBA season, when they couldn't even last in the NCAA.
Is this sarcasm? There has got to be a reason why we ended up with Clanton after all...my bet is it started when Hakeem became a Raptor...
When I read the title of this thread, the first thing that came to my mind was His knees. If it had been his knees then the Clippers are really cursed. Oden part 2? Hope not Sam Bowie part 2.
And here I thought the Rockets had bad luck with injuries. Griffen didn't even play a second of the official season yet. Blake, the Yao of the Clippers.
He will but the question is how often will he be injured? He would be a waste of talent if he follows the footsteps of Oden in his first years in the league.
I had posted this in another forum while back but there is a pattern to the no 1 pick in the draft. 2002 - Yao 2003 - Labron 2004 - Howard franchise players. 2005 - Bogut 2006 - Bargnani 2007 - Oden Often injury have not lived up the hype Now I thought the tide had shifted with Rose and his stellar season last year and Griffin looked like another homerun player until lottery night when the Clippers dark hole sucked the very life out of hope for his future. Reminds me of the excellent article Bill Simmons wrote. Run Blake run even if you have to pop out your shoulder and carry it with you!
sorry, buddy, but I had to correct your pattern. I am a homer, but I still have to admit Yao is often injured and doesn't live up to the hype also.
I have to agree & disagree, Yes, Yao hasn't lived up to the hype, but you cant put him in a list with Bargnani, Oden, and Bogut (maybe as an injury prone player). But as far as contributions to the team goes, its not even close, Yao definitely has just as big of an impact as Lebron and Dwight on their teams(at least thats what i think ).......of course every one is entittled to there own opinion so its all cool
