Issues with Chat

There was a server split for a while, but seeing as I saw you in there later, I'm guessing you made it.

 

Had it been awhile since you had been in chat before last game NEwYorker?

A while back we experienced issues with people having to manually clear their internet cache so the new version of the java applet could be used.

I outlined how to do it in a old thread in here so if you (or anyone) is experiencing the failed applet load issues, let me know and Ill dig it up.

 

I remember even using mirc, I couldn't connect when it pooled over to one specific server (it was either nexus or katana) on the webchat network. Another one worked fine. It may have just been a webchat issue. If you still can't get in via the applet, do what R2k says.

just in case anyone is still having troubles with the java chat client at http://www.clutchfans.net/chat.cfm , Im reposting what we discovered worked last time something like this came up.

 

I think alot of people dont realize how easy Mirc is to use.

The hardest part is having to manually enter the webchat server information at the start the first time it is used.

What would be cool is if someone that is really good at irc setup a custom irc client (like the mods of mirc that are available like Godfather) that already had the server information entered, adn a coupl dof easy to use scripts that non-tech people could easily use to change the color of the pbp to make it more easily visible.
That would solve the people who are always asking for some pbpers to change their font/color.
That normally isnt a problem with Uprising, Kim, jeffster or myself since we all use textchanger script to color our fonts....but when someone has to do fill-in pbp and they arent sure how to keep their font bolded or colorized, that script would come in damn handy.

If no one else does it...Ill look into how easy it is to do as I get time...but with the way my schedule looks, that aint happening anytime soon.
