if i recall correctly, if the rockets do not sign kt to a contract extension by today, he must become a free agent after this season. any new news or thoughts on this?

I thought it was yesterday, the 30th?

Dawson already made a statement that they love Kenny, but the salary cap is preventing anymore long term contracts.

Does the cap mean they can't ever sign him to a long term contract so he will essentially playing for a contract for another team now? (since he won't want to play for a short term contract here.)

This is what sucks about team sports nowadays, Kenny deserves an offer from us.

I'd rather see Kt with a contract than Mooch, Mo T, or Cato. If only there was a way to take them back. :p

All first round selections can re-sign with their team up to the maximum salary, just like Francis did.

Thanks for clearing that up. So we can go over the cap in this case next year assuming the franchise is willing to pay the penalty and there are no free agents we want / are able to sign?

It would be funny if they signed him today after watching that performance from Griffin last night.
