Anyone who watches the Rox games knows that we need offense and we need it really really badlly so i purpose we sign Isiah Rider. I dont know if yall got to see his interview durring allstar weekend but this guy really wants to come back to the NBA and really looked dedicated like he's finaly ready to work hard. He was an allstar when he played in the nba and could give us a BIG lift off the bench on the offensive end as well as provide vetrain leadership when it comes to playoff time. What do you guys think?

-Forgive me for my crappy spelling :)

I'd consider it except I don't think we need any more guards.

If we're going to acquire anyone in the offseason, lets focus on forwards.

Well Jim Jackson was considered by many to be a team cancer and he has really contributed to the offense. I guess sometimes all a player needs is years in the league to make his mustakes and hopefully learn from them. I wouldn't be oppoesed to it if he's not still a moron.

There is a reason why he isn't playing right now and there is a reason why he didn't play steadily when he did.

You guys saying that he couldn't play probably never watched him. J.R. could DEFINITELY play ball. 17 points per game on 44% shooting isn't bad. If he had half the attitude and work ethic of Cuttino, he could have been a great player.

You obviously didnt watch him very much. He was a gifted scorer in many ways and excelled at shooting.

It's funny how before this year, most people thought we had guys that could ONLY play offense (Mobley, Francis, Taylor, etc). Now it's the opposite? I wonder if maybe this has to do with what the coach emphasizes? Not sure that should be the case in an ideal situation (the players should determine the style of play, not the coach), but it looks like that may be what's happening.

that's not true, i watched him closely in portland. he was very streaky and not a great spot up shooter, and not what we need.

My opinion on Rider hasn't changed in the 2 weeks since this was last posted...

I didn't see the interview, but Rider will turn 33 next month. His last job was 173 minutes as a 2001-02 Denver Nugget where he averaged 9.3 ppg over 10 games.

Prior to that, Riders last productive season was with the 99-00 Hawks where he took .51 shots per minute. Assuming he could still shoot with the same accuracy as he could 5 years ago, he would be taking 9.6 shots in 18 minutes off of the bench. Way to many for a team taking 75 shots per game. It would be a great feel good story, just not in Houston. Very bad fit.
