Roll those final credits You've got questions. So on select Fridays I'll answer them in this space. Please submit questions by going to my Web site, TVBarn.com, and clicking on "E-mail." My mother told me she thought she had read that "The Agency" on CBS was not returning in the fall. Is she correct? -- Carol Edds She is correct. I was surprised, frankly, when CBS renewed the low-rated "Agency" last year. Turns out America was not screaming for an entertainment program about the war on terrorism. To no one's surprise, when CBS and the other networks rolled out their fall schedules last week, the still-low-rated "Agency" was nowhere to be seen. Here's the complete casualty list from the 2002-03 season: ABC: "Dinotopia," "MDs," "Miracles," "Push, Nevada," "That Was Then" and "Veritas." ("The Drew Carey Show" is off the schedule, but ABC says it will return, abysmal ratings or not. "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" could come back anytime.) CBS: "The Agency," "Bram and Alice," "My Big Fat Greek Life," "Presidio Med," "Queens Supreme," "Robbery Homicide Division" and "Touched by an Angel." ("Becker" could be coming back at midseason -- good for CBS.) Fox: "Fastlane," "Firefly," "Futurama," "girls club," "The Grubbs," "John Doe," "The Pitts" and "30 Seconds to Fame." NBC: "In-Laws," "Just Shoot Me," "Hidden Hills," "Mister Sterling," "Providence" and "Watching Ellie." (No word on the future of "America's Most Talented Kid.") UPN: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Haunted," "Platinum" and "The Twilight Zone." WB: "Birds of Prey," "Black Sash," "Dawson's Creek," "Do Over," "Family Affair," "Greetings From Tucson," "Off Centre" and "Sabrina."
I loved "Off Centre!" Leave it to the WB to **** up another show. (I also liked "Popular," "My So Called Life," and "Young Americans.") The shows are great -- it's the freaking channel that sucks! ... At least "Oliver Beene" and "Less Than Perfect" will be back next season. Of course, they're not on the WB. did any of you ever watch Bullsh*t with Penn and Teller on Showtime? that was the best show on television aside curb your enthusim. im not sure if it is cancelled but im only aware of about 5 episodes and i havent see nany new ones in their regular friday night time slot.
Did "John Doe" ever figure out who he was in his only season? Or, did it just end and get cancelled. LOL That is what's so great about television...cancel the show while having no wrap-up or finality of the show. It just ends. For once, I would like to see everyone die due to a freak natural disaster in a show's finale...or something .
My favorite show, Law and Order, is still going strong. I like Criminal Intent as well, but I could do without SVU.
Yes, but it wasn't from poor ratings or anything. Joss and Sarah decided that the show had run its course. Thankfully, we still have Angel at least, and another spinoff is in the works.
"The District" is safe. Even after the death of Lynne Thigpen. Good. I like that show. I'm glad "Platinum" is biting the dust. That show was a mockery of blacks in the music business. I'm disappointed about the Twilight Zone, though. It was starting to grow on me.
I forgot "Grosse Pointe" -- another show the WB mucked up. Hmmm, maybe I'm the only one who watched these shows. University (w/ Butter) Blue
I'm glad that UPN isn't cancelling "Enterprise". Along with "Six Feet Under" and "24" (best show ever), it is one of my "can't-miss" shows.
I dont remember the specifics but it was stupid. The show was good until Benson left to his own series. They even made Billy Crystal's character straight at the end.
Yeah, Mona (well, not her character's name, but the actress that played Mona on Who's the Boss) was in a Mexican prison for some reason. She was set to be executed by a firing squad and when the guns went off, it ended in a cliffhanger. The show was then canceled.
