I just can't help think about that... What if he stops playing during the summer? Will that help prevent the recurring injuries? Or maybe he should start playing 30 minutes like he did back in the early days with JVG? His injury problem has to be resolved now that its happened for so many years. I think the medical staff needs to be fired.

Yes, take off lots of games in the regular season like duncan.. i don't think Yao should play more than 1,500 minutes in the regular season.

He'll always be injury-prone, and the Rockets need to plan for that. No more assuming that Yao will be available.

I think for his long term health, Yao's minutes need to be cut down significantly. In his prime, Smits played between 25 and 30 minute a game. Ilgauskas has also played somewhere in that range most of his career. Those are probably the two best comparables to Yao, taking into account physical stature and basketball role. I think his minutes need to fall more to that range.

I'm wondering if it was caused becuase he was over compensating for dinging his right knee in game 1. While it looked like there was no issue in game 2 and 3, there could have been a lingering pain that we couldn't see.
