No this is not another trade yao thread. Based on this board some people think Yao is one of if not the best player in the league. Forget finance just from a basketball perspective who would you rank better or worse than yao ming.

is this a serious question? anyways - in no particular order, players that are better thn yao - kobe, lebron, dwade, CP3, dhoward(because of the durability and the fact that he always has an impact on the game) he is in the same class as guys like BRoy and durant i would say
i would throw duncan at the same level as yao as well, if not better. even at his age duncan had a very effective year

of course he is not the best player in the league but he is the best CENTER in the league. he is just as good a defender as Dwight Howard but is WAYYYY better on offense. Dwight is a better rebounder but yao is a better passer. a center will never be defined as the best player in the league. i'd put him in the top 10 or 15 tho.
I haven't seen anyone say Yao is THE best player in NBA. Soon this will become a Yao vs. Howard thread.
Sorry, but a healthy Yao Ming is better than a healthy Dwight Howard. It's close, but Dwight Howard has shown that he can't even score in single coverage defense against Kendrick Perkins in the Celtics-Magic series. Give me Yao all day everyday.
yeah, i agree, if they are healthy, but durability DOES matter and thats why for purposes of this meaningless list i put Dhoward ahead of yao. however, that doesnt mean i would trade yao for howard, i think yao is better if healthy
You should probably replace Carmelo with KG in that poll. And then I'd trade Yao straight up for any one of those. So I guess I'd have Yao ranked around 10-12 best in the NBA.
As in everything we discuss, age and experience is a factor. With that said, I voted for everyone above Carmelo. Tim Duncan is on a decline and I don't think he's as good as Yao at this stage. Dirk is an amazing player but not a leader, while Yao is (may not be too vocal, but he leads by example). Brandon Roy.... I'm going to wait and see if he can raise his game to another level. Everyone else is legit superstars and would bring more to the table than Yao does. However, the teams with those players would never trade them for Yao.
haha and 1 vote for Yao as the best player in that poll. I knew the YOFs will show up eventually...Yao will have more than 100 votes when the sun raises in the east i guarantee it.
For Yao's good, I will trade Yao for big Z. For the team's good, the only one in the list that can take Yao's role is DH. The team needs a decent center if Yao is traded.
