I didn't get to watch the game but I heard that Mutumbo elbowed him in the throat and Yao immediately fell to the floor. OUCH!!!

For those that saw it, was the play by accident or was it dirty. Hope Yao is ok.. We really need him to step up and finish the next 9 games strong in order to make the playoffs.

Mutombo's not a dirty player, but it was a dirty play. He flat out extended his arm and planted his elbow right in Yao's throat as he tried to crash the boards.

I thought it was an accident. It didn't seem to me like Mutombo was aiming for him or anything. He had his eye on the basket the whole time.

i don't think that's an "accident". mutombo is famous for his sharp elbows. also if i heard correctly on the nets radio broadcast, i think i heard them say they saw dikembe glance back at yao and then elbow him in the throat. ??? i don't remember what they said exactly. but anyway, yao didn't let that intimidate him apparently since he proceeded to hit both free throws as a result of the foul on dikembe. but that's gotta hurt. right in the throat.

just saw the replay of highlights from tonight's game. no doubt about it. that was on purpose. anybody who thought that was an accident is a dumba$$.

aside from that, there is good news in that yao wasn't shooting long outside jumpers anymore. (at least, that's what i saw in the hi-light clips)he was going more inside this time and it obviously helped him get out of his slump. he was using quick spin moves and hanging on the rim in one highlight clip. too bad the rockets lost though. hopefully, he'll be able to play the inside game consistently and he'll need to do a better job on the boards and block more shots than he did tonight if the rockets are going to win.

yeah i saw that. it was vicious. mutombo used his sharp elbow like a spear and actually aimed at yao's throat when yao was trying to go pass him for the rebound.
