Watching the game last night and i notice that Vin Baker does'nt even look thrilled to be with the roster. I guessed he was thinking wether JVG use him or not he still gets his Million $. Vin is just another soft forward. I hope we ditch the guy at the end of the season.

Man, I was thinking with all those layups the Jazz got, at least JVG would throw his big ass out there to clog the lane.:(

Uhh...why not give the guy a chance before we jump on him already? He's been in town for about 3 days.

He may not have been thrilled sitting on the bench. He's on a new team, might not know any of the players too well. Not too mention living in a new city. Let's let the guy get acclamated (sp?) and get some PT before sending him on his way.

.............Actually, the guy may be able to help us out. I've never seen him play. If he wants to play, he'll have to make it known in PRACTICE.
I hope he can be a good defender and rebounder for us.

I've got to think that if he couldn't get off the KNICKS bench, he won't be getting off of ours.

    I certainly hope a guy averaging 1ppg and 1rpg isn't in JVG's plans...

Vin Baker has serious mental issues

If I'm not mistaken, Vin had a drinking problem prior to getting traded to the Knicks which he never fully recovered from. I don't know if this one is salvageable or is he another Eddie Griffin in disguise. Personally, I think any output we get out of Vin is a bonus. So sad that this was the same fellow who was so covetted back in the first round draft of '9x

    :p

JVG has already said that he has a rotation, and that there will be a tough time breaking into it.

VB is just cap space waiting to happen. The only court-time he'll be receiving is after his dui arrest!

dog you are obviously not one of Baker's AA supporters & mentors and are not on his list to call when he needs support with the 12 steps?

CD seemed to at least think out loud for public consumption that Baker might have something left in the tank. JVG will see that in practice long before we find out or don't find out in a game.

If Baker gets a bad case of splinters over the next 10 games then we can conclude JVG hasn't liked what he saw in practice.

I remember the last year Baker was with Seattle.

They were in the playoffs against the Spurs. Even though Vin was obviously out of shape, he actually played Duncan pretty well and made him work on both sides of the court. I was really surprised because I thought he was already a has been.

Course I haven't seen him do jack since then ...

I hope you are right - I would like to see a good 10 minutes out of him and see what he can do.

Vin can still do it,if sober.I could see him providing a solid deep post presence.Hopefully for Vin and the Rockets,he can keep it together. He's always been loaded with talent, just has struggled off the court.
Either way the Rockets have the expiring contract.

If there is anytime he should be able to get on the floor its now because Padgett has been terrible the last three games. He's scored maybe a total of two points the last three games and he can't grab a rebound to save his life. So if Baker can't get on the court now then he just sucks.

I'm glad you are off the wagon, but I'm not sure Don Chaney is the answer to the Rockets problems.

    Which wagon? Wild wild west?

BTW, Rockets' solution is John Chaney, not Don.

    Hey everyone, let's keep going:
