well that blows. hopefully it'll be cloudy tonight. on a good, cloudy night i can pick up 610 AM here in san antonio.
I really, really, really, really hate to do this but... BobFinn* and I had the discussion about this tiime last year and he can correct me but this is how I recall it. Pertaining only to DirecTV, NBALP does not technically start until the regular season starts. During the pre-season, there will be a small amount of scheduled "teaser" type games and additionally some live game updates on the NBATV channel (601 on DTV). Now, here is where it gets a little sticky. Without any advance notification, DirecTV will show some NBA pre-season games on a totally random basis. It will not appear on the menu (ch.'s 720-732) at anytime. The game will just be there at (or a little before) tipoff time. Don't get too excited or build up any advance false hope, but it is worth a look. This is my fifth season with DTV NBALP and (even though Finn* will disagree with me) this is my recollection of their SOP. Unfortunately, I am almost positive that cable does not work this way unless other things have changed since AOLTW has added NBATV to their regular lineup.
You are right. I ordered my lp, but dish network told me it only activates it after 10/28. Well, I guess there is plenty to see once the season starts. Just take it easy now.
feishen - There is the chance that dish network will "flip the switch" early. From my experiences with DTV, I would not wait until the 28th before taking a look. It is analogous to the phone company saying you'll have service on such and such day but then their technician shows up 2 days early.
