Whenever their is a thread or post concerning guards or the Rockets roster in general there seems to be a lot of people throwing Tierre's name around matter-of-factly but is everyone sure he's gonna make the team? Every interview w/ a Rockets offical, from Rudy T, to CD, to the assistants, they all make a point and say something positive about Tito Maddux and rarely anything about Tierre. They all say he's a 1st round talent and how well he did in Summer League playconfused: ). CD said he was a steal in the second round and was a big surprise so with that being said, do you thinkthe Rocks would cut someone they feel is a 1st rounder? And where does that leave Tierre?
for some reason i think we will keep him. Then ship moochie this off season with kt for courtny alexander to play back up 2.
I think the reason why we like him so much is that he is like Stevie and at 6'4 can backup Mobley at times. His size makes him versatile.
would love to get alexander. talk about a natural scorer... that boy can pour it in! don't the hornets already have wesley and davis, and Mashburn who is a GF? http://www.clutchcity.net/draft_profile.cfm?Player=6
Regretfully I don't think so. I want him to, but the Rockets are falsely enamored by Tito. Just because he's 6'4 doesn't mean he can play SG. Yeah I'm talking to you--Jim Boylen... Tierre proved he was better, but no matter what he does, the Rockets seem to love Tito. He can get the assists, he was trying to prove he could score. If you wanted him to prove he could get more than 7 assists a game, then tell him... Honestly, I wish we'd deal Moochie for a back-up SG, and kept Tierre as backup PG. It'd be a fair deal since Mooch could start on some teams, and we'd get one of our only needs now. So, No, but I wish
If the Marketing Department of the Rockets is going to include Moochie in the huge billboard campaign, does that not lead one to assume Moochie will stay in H-town for awhile? Or does that not have anything to do with it?
The Rockets having glowing things to say about all their picks. But between praise from the Rockets staff and actual production on the court, I think we must given predominance to the latter. Brown has proven himself to a degree with his play last season and in the SPL. Maddox has not. That said, I fully expect they'll actually both be on the roster, with Maddox starting on the IR. That's a lot of point guards to have, but it is in the Rockets' interest to let some investments season and see what you've got.
I think people forget how prolific a scorer Brown was in college. He is the kind of guy that can put ten points on the board very quickly.
I think that we should cut Tito, and keep Tierre. Tierre totally outplayed Tito in the summer league. I don't think that Tito has what it takes to make it in the L. I think he will always be a 12th man. Tierre will be much better than Tito.
Personally, I like Tierre, even better than Moochie. However, Tito does have one advantage to his side: his height. He is 6'4" and that's pretty good for a point guard. I'm sure Rudy T and Carol will do anything to see that Tito makes it as the backup's backup, and although it may not necessarily be because Tito is more talented than Tierre, it will likely be because he is four more inches taller.
