    No it isn't facist. Yes it should be legal. It's called freedom of speech. Employers of course cannot force their employees to vote a certain way, but they can sure as heck tell the employees what would best benefit the company, as well as what could happen if the other guy wins. Direct retaliation for voting the "wrong" way seems unlikely (how would the boss know who you voted for anyway).

    freedom of speech doesn't extend to extorting employees with the threat of losing their job depending on the election.

    The boss simply said, if you vote Obama, I will have to lay off workers. Don't know why he would think that, but in a nut shell that's all he's saying.

    Perfectly legal.

    Right, which is extorting employees, and threatening them. I don't know if it's legal or not, but I do know it's not moral, and it isn't right.

    I don't think it matters. The employer didn't say he'd fire any employee who voted for Obama.

    What he did do is try to create fear amongst employees for their jobs depending on the outcome of the election.
