I could have gotten an 42" 1080p LG for $300 less, but I fell in love with this Toshiba's clarity and the 46" screen in the same overall dimension of a 42" LCD.

BTW, I got it for $1800 and bought the 4 year extended warranty. If it messes up, they come in and repair it. If not repairable, I get store credit for same price.

This is my first LCD BTW. I hope I made a good choice.

I bought a Memorex MLT 1912 during Christmas for about $350 and could only get channels 5 and 6 on my basic cable connection. So I took it back, went to another store and got the most expensive in the same size (19") for about $150 more. I guess the point is don't buy the cheap stuff cuz it might not work.

I've owned a Toshiba in the past, zero problems, and excellent company.
that looks like a sweet tv.

make sure you go to avsforum and search for some settings. remember the factory settings are usually terrible.

$1800 before the warranty or after? It sells for about $1300-$1600 now. It's dropped in price because they've brought their newer line out, but it's still a good tv.

Ya 1800 seems high for a 46" these days.

$1800 high? Really? I haven't seen this anywhere on the net under 1800. The 4 year warranty was added after the 1800, but the warranty was only $300. I couldn't very well shop around because there are not very many eloctronics stores in Brownsville where I can bargain shop. I got it at Conn's. I didn't want to deal with Best Buy, and Circuit City in my town is crap.

I'll go pick it up later today...then I need to upgrade my cable to HD. :D
