Houston gets Corey Benjamin Khalid El-Amin Chicago's 2nd rounder next year Chicago gets Drew I got it off a sportstalk rant board so it's really got no basis but i think it's a good deal.i certainly like it more than two second rounders and i doubt there is a chance at getting fizer or crawford in a drew deal. ------------------ Question-What is Elton Brand not worthy of carrying? Answer-Franchises Jock
Thats too much for him , plus chicago wont give up el amin for drew because they like him alot. Corey Benjamin for Drew, yeah but dont think you can get alot for drew. I would be glad if we got a draft pick for him. ------------------ "You look a team that's been to the mountaintop like the Houston Rockets, I'm going to put pressure on myself to be the best possible player that I can be. With the pieces they already have in place and myself, we can do some amazing things next season." Maurice Taylor
if all we can get for him is one draft pick unless it's in the first round(where drew was picked)i wouldn't trade him ------------------ Question-What is Elton Brand not worthy of carrying? Answer-Franchises Jock
So you would rather wait until he eventually gets waived or renounced and have absolutely nothing to show for it? Trading a former first round pick for a second round pick is a loss. The old saying is, "The First Loss is the Best Loss". Take the first loss and forget about it. Mango ------------------ Test Your NBA Trade Ideas 1. Put new topics in the proper forum. How about this trade: houston trades: Bryce Drew $1,182,600 to chicago houston trades: Carlos Rogers $2,200,000 to denver TOTAL: $3,382,600 chicago trades: Ron Artest $1,160,760 to denver chicago trades: Corey Benjamin $744,480 to houston chicago trades: Michael Ruffin $444,840 to denver TOTAL: $2,350,080 denver trades: Keon Clark $1,379,400 to chicago denver trades: Popeye Jones $2,680,000 to houston denver trades: James Posey $1,047,600 to houston TOTAL: $5,107,000 TRADE ACCEPTED Due to denver being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. denver had to be within 15% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining agreement. houston had to use a portion of their trade exemption of $1,700,000 for this trade to go through. denver would also receive a trade exemption of $1,401,400 with this trade. This would have to be used within one calendar year from the date of this trade. Be aware that this exemption will be extinguished if the team which possesses it falls below the cap by the combined amount of the exemptions it currently possesses. Of course this trade wouldn't go down as is. There would more than likely be picks thrown in and since they don't count against the cap, they are irrelevent at the moment. But this deal would totally benefit the Rockets but not so much that this deal would be considered one sided. Popeye Jones' contract ends after this year leaving us with that cap space and Benjamin has a team option after this year so he could be let go which would clear up about $2.5 mil. If Rudy, wants to keep Walt and still have more cap space, this deal would work especially well. Of coure my clutchcity bretheren, please give your opinion on this deal. I find it to be very good for all 3 teams in that we get a damn good and improving SF and cap space and get rid of players not likely to get much PT, Denver, still will get a SF/SG back in Artest and a young and talented and needed center and Rogers who basically replaces Clark, as for Chicago, they get Drew and a talented player in Clark who can swing to C/PF/SF. As I have said, picks would likely be thrown in to make it go 'round. But as far as this deal making sense, it does. ------------------
I think I've only just stopped laughing... Is there any way we can implement that as part of the smilies legend? The I'm shocked/confues/amazed smiley? ------------------
LOL, anyone seen the Bloodhound gang video of Bad Touch... u know, "...do it like they do on the discovery channel", when they are dressed up in monkey suits and have these huge ear's sticking out from their costumes? If so, now look at popeye jones' picture...nuff said. ------------------
Another Drew thread.....UGH! We do not need Khalid El-A-Fat. We are good at the PG spot. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
we are one injury to steve or the mooch away from having only one pg on the roster,so how are we good at the spot? ------------------ I'm not the type to eat it up but the type to hit it raw dog and seed it up.
Actually at the moment we have 3 PG's on the roster and a 2-guard who has played a full season of PG. We trade Drew away and that leaves us with 2 PG's on the roster and a 2-guard who has played a full season of PG. Should Steve get injured then the Rockets are screwed anyway, so we just sign a CBA player to backup Moochie, or shuffle Mobley to PG and see how he goes -either way it doesn't matter because without Francis we won't win a lot (El-Amin doesn't help). Should Moochie get injured then Steve will play 40 minutes a night and we sign a CBA player to play the 8 remaining PG minutes - OR we shuffle Mobley there for 8 minutes a game. Either way it's not that much of a big deal because an 8 minute PG is NOT worth paying a million dollars a season for. My conclusion is along the same lines as HOOP-T, we are good at the PG spot. ------------------
I just don't think giving away a viable b/u is smart. ------------------ I'm not the type to eat it up but the type to hit it raw dog and seed it up.
so we trade jones, clark, and posey for rogers, artest and ruffin. stupid trade. very stupid. you guys do this every week and every deal we get royally screwed in your trade ideas. but you guys give up future all stars in drew and rogers (hey remember when i said you guys always offer these same scrubs trying to get quality back...well here it is again) for jones, posey and benjamin. posey alone is worth at least 10 times those combined. and as always the idea that the nuggets need a center...ANY CENTER...controls your thought process in these deals. as long as we get someone who is 7 foot tall, no matter how bad he is, the deal is apparently a good one for denver. the quote 'denver gets the center they need' is really getting old and isnt quite fully understood on this forum. go do your homework on the rest of the nba and try again.
ah thanks. thus proving my point even more. i replied to a thread, but what did i say was wrong or incorrect? nothing. thus you had no reply and comeback with that. i can see how well learned you truly are. NICE!!! now...any rocket fans care to reply and discuss and show how smart rocket fans can be. i know theres a whole bunch here and this guy is just bringing you guys down.
Nugz, If it is any consolation....I am and have been a Drew naysayer for a while. I just think he doesn't hold that much value. I think he is a decent player, but not worth some of the wild and lopsided trades mentioned here on this BBS lately. However, you are a little off with your proclamation of Posey. While Posey is an exciting young player with springs for legs...I do not thing he is worthy of that kind of praise. Anyway, with statements like this: "stupid trade. very stupid." and this: "go do your homework on the rest of the nba and try again." ....you are asking for trouble. Not many people here, or anywhere for that matter, appreciate being called stupid (or their ideas). ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
