The cynic in me views this with a very cautiously optimistic approach that maybe not all CEOs are souless money grubbers. http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science/01/22/ceos.climate.ap/index.html
1) Would CEO's say this if the Republians were in power? 2) If a CEO wasn't a heartlesss, money crazed individual I hope to God he would be fired. They don't install CEO's to run charities.
2. How very shortsighted of you. Warren Buffet doesn't seem to be a heartless money crazed individual and Berkshire Hathaway seems to be doing very good. There are also numerous successful, but smaller in scale enterprises run by Spencer Kim who works toward worker ownership, donates food to help starving N. Koreans, Hurricaine relief etc., and all sorts of good hearted work. His whole business philosophy is the antithesis of what you describe. His businesses are extremely successful. These are people who run highly successful corporations and businesses that actually stay in business unlike the heartless money-hungry folks who ran Enron or some the other companies that have failed.
There comes a point were unrestrained Capitalism is counterproductive When Companies start seeing it is more profitable to stomp out innovation than to innovate, etc Rocket River
