I heard (from someone who should know) that Posey had "attitude problems". This was with a few weeks left in the season...maybe he changed.

Anyway, the plan then was to let Posey go on his way and hope for Boki to step up next season.

Does anybody know if Posey does want to stay, and if he's going to ask for the Mid level or the max?

    Okay uhh......

    First.

If he has attitude problems....he doesn't show it.

    He has problems.
    So does Francis.
    So does Mobley.
    So does Maddox.
    So does Mo Taylor.
So does Cato......but he's funny doing it.
    And Eddie's just high.

I like Posey's play......and he is energetic......but there should be plenty of guys like him. And yeah......even though I love his dunks......I would sacrifice it to let Bostjan Nachbar play and develop for the future....although I would like Posey to be part of our future.......

    Anyways.

If he doesn't come back. Oh well. Nice playing.

    Lost him and KT.

    Hopefully EG will go too.

If Posey asks for the max he will find himself unemployed next year.

I'm sure he would like to stay, since he lives in Houston, practices here in off-season, and is good friends with Stevie or Mobes(I think). I would love for him to be back next season. I would also love for BOki to start next season.:)

our other small forward is terrence morris but he also plays a little 4 and even plays the 5 occasionally. my best guess as to why boki got no playing time- he isn't very good. at least not yet. to hope for a dirk with defense is just kind of ridiculous right now. right now a decent back up will suit me just fine. i just want something out of that draft pick because though it's still early, i'm honestly a bit afraid it went to waste. (though i haven't given up all hope)

as to what Posey's plans are: I'm sure he wants to play in Houston. As stated this is where he lives and he has several friends on the team. Does Houston want to keep him? I don't see why they wouldn't. He played hard for them. One thing that worries me though is he really seemed to play better towards the end of the season. Why was that? I mean it could be that he just became more comfortable with his team mates and his team mates more comfortable with him or it could be he started playing up for a big contract. It makes me nervous.

I'll never forget that insane triple double Cato had in that preseason game when he first came to houston. He left the floor with the fans on their feet chanting "CATO! CATO!". Shortly thereafter he gets signed to that big deal and then until this season, we never saw him show any desire at all. Now I know Posey has always played hard, but i'm just a bit afraid that after how he looked towards the end of the season he might get a bit more than he's worth. If not from us, from somebody.

Nachbar didn't get any playing time because they were going to consider him the first round pick for this years draft pick. Or so they say. I don't know though, but from what I have seen of him (very little) he looks pretty good. We'll see more of him in the summer leagues!!

Posey did mention he will like to stay in Houston during the season..... I would like to have him back, towards the end of the season, it seems that he is the kind of 3 we need.... hustle for boards, hustle on D, and knock down those open 3's (well, he is not that good there, but it seems that his shot got better since he got to Houston).....

I would say Rockets will try to offer him somewhere in the mid-level.... anything above that, just let him go.....

I agree with bringing back Posey, as long as it is not for more than the amount of the MCE, and the deal is 4 years or less. I doubt if Posey would get more elsewhere, and he is a restricted free agent. I think he would complement Boki well at the SF, and on some occasions serve as a backup SG. Then we can focus on using our tradeable assets to address more pressing needs (PG, PF). I think that this would be a more effecient use of our limited tradeable assets than to try to conjure up a trade for another SF like Odom and letting Posey walk.

we need to bring back posey.

he is a great rebounder as far as SF's go. he is an above average defender. and he hustles. he is exactly what we need from the position. even his jumper was showing improvement since he first came here.

the most important thing is that we won't get killed by the odoms, marions, pattersons, and the rest of the tall athletic SF's the nba has.

    one more thing:

if we let him go, we would have just given away KT. and left our SF position worse off that it was last season.

Could it be that it took a little time for Posey to learn the plays and to get a feel for the strengths and weaknesses of his teammates' respective "games?"

I really like Posey. Those 3 dunks in the Nugs game were fantanstic, especially the back-2-back alleys he got from Steve. Signing him for the MCE is fine w/ me and let him spell Cat at the SG as well as playing the SF would free up some PT for Boki (hopefully). Like it mentioned earlier, he brings hustle and he'll punch somebody in the face if neccessary so I say bring him back (for the right price of course).
