Okay other than that vague rumor is there ANYTHING to corroborate all of these Mutombo posts? Geez, half the people in the Ward/Sura thread are acting as if Mutombo for Pike/Gaines is already done...
I believe the Chicago papers said the Bulls were going to shop around Mutombo and that the Bulls were interested in Pike to fill their hole at backup 2 guard. Clearly we need a backup center so putting 2+2 together there is reason to believe that a move could be made here.
i feel like there are 2 moves left to be made this summer. im sure we can all agree that one of them will be for a back-up center. pike seems to be gone because of the sura signing. from what JVG said after the season ended im pretty sure taylor will be gone the first chance they get. we still have the TE. my point is there are things that need to get done and we still have some chips to use. there is also 2 1/2 months before the season starts. i expect a couple of moves to even out the roster.

Sure there will be a big coming in and a 1 and a 2 going out. Lue and Howard? Gee, we hardly knew ye? Gaines and Pike and Spoon?
WHY would we want to give up Gaines, a near lotto pick, from the previous draft in addition to Pike all to get freakin Deke??? Sorry, I don't consider that a smart move at all.
Whats Mutumbo like with his teammates and coaches? do they usually get along with him or do they call him "Deke" because he's acts like a big 'Deke' head?
It isn't a "vague" rumor, it's a legit rumor that has been tossed around. And people aren't acting like "Pike/Gaines is already done", people are saying that hopefully the Rockets can get Mutombo. I never understood why people have to exaggerate and act like people are saying one thing when they're obviously not saying it.

He's supposed to be one of the nicest guys in the league. He and Patrick are buddies. Don't be too concerned if a trade doesn't materialize immediately. The Bulls just finalized the Crawford deal, and it took weeks to complete the McGrady trade, and two weeks just to finish the deals for Ward and Sura. Patience is a virtue.
