Is there any chance for Jalen Rose?

I know that we are out of the hunt right now for adding a superstar free agent... BUT would any of you think that Jalen Rose is out of the question? Since Bird is in his last year of coaching the Pacers, and the team is not getting any younger, there might be a possibility. Rose might be looking at joining a new team. I think that he would be great for the Rockets because he could add another player who has all around skills. He is a young player that is improving greatly every year. Rose is also having a breakout season this year, so I am sure that many other teams will be looking at signing him. Maybe we could package Drew, and some other workable combination. Is this deal out of the question?

    H-Town,
From what I've read about Jalen Rose, he really wants to be a point guard rather than a 3 or a 2 (from a Sports Illustrated interview). I think he is highly touted enough that he just may get the chance to do for some other team what he couldn't do in Denver and Indiana, assuming he doesn't re-sign with Indiana.
With that said, I want a 6'8''-6'10'' small forward that can spread the court with an outside touch, put the ball on the floor and go to the hole, pass the ball (about four assists a game), play some legitimate defense, rebound a little (5-8 per night would be nice). I think that fits Jalen Rose nicely. He will want the max or close to it, and may not want to play the three spot, which is where he'd play here assuredly. So I think it'd be nice, and I want it to happen, but I don't know if it will.

    Pass 1st, Shoot 2nd...

We already had that with Scottie Pippen. We should go for someone like DeMarr Johnson...

This sounds like a re-run of last week

Even though he is injured and we don't know how we will recover, what about Antawn Jamison?

I know he plays on a crappy team, but I think he has the fire to do some good things.

    01-10,
And we'd be a better team using this system with Scottie Pippen on our team, too. I would rather have a veteran at the small forward spot than a rookie. Maybe we can get a veteran and still draft a hot rookie (like DeMarr Johnson).

    OT,
Sorry to be repetitive, but I didn't catch that thread you're talking about last week.

    RocketsPimp,
I couldn't agree with you more (our frontcourt needs work), but a small forward and a center IMHO have got to be higher on our lists right now. Cato is a power forward, not a center.

Pass/Shoot, glad to hear you agree, but Antawn is a SF. Also, I didn't say anything about Cato being a center.

You like DeMarr? Well, he's going into the draft as of today.

Well, I'm of the opinion Jamison is a PF, his style of game is that of an athletic PFs, IMO.

Some things I question. Like Garnett being a SF. Then, people say Wally Sczerbiak is a PF? Uh not quite.

WHAT IF we had signed McDyess (who was all set to sign with the Rockets if they wanted him, and had the $$), sigh, we wouldn't have these awful frontcourt problems, I wouldn't think.

Ok, one more time. The Rockets didn't decide against signing McDyess. McDyess decided that he didn't want to play in Houston. He eliminated Houston as an option and made his choice between Phoenix and Denver.

There should be a Top 50 FAQ list(with correct answers given) that all new members would have to read before being allowed to post. It would save having to refute the same misunderstandings. One week posting suspension if one of those 50 questions surfaces in a thread.

Remember the week we got Devin Gray and there was like 7 threads about "Who is Devin Gray"...or "We Signed Devin Gray"...in a race to get scoop credit from Clutch.

    It's like...12-man...who cares!
