The more I see Horry, the more I miss him. He is going to be the reason the Lakers beat the Spurs. You can already see that he can play good D on Duncan. Hell, he played good D on Barkley, Malone and Horace Grant in their prime so he knows how to play the power forward position. Anyway, does anyone know the contract situation that Horry has? Man, I would think he would be a great fit here if there is a way to get him. Wishful thinking but just curious to know. ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx
According to realgm he has an option for next year at 5.1 million. ------------------ I wrote her this love letter, but she don't know how to reeeaaad!
He will be paid 15.3 million over the next 3 years, with a base salary of 5.1 million in each of those years. Does anybody know if the last 3 years on his contract are player or team option? ------------------ [This message has been edited by tacoma park legend (edited May 19, 2001).]
$5 million is a lot to pay for 10 games work. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. You know the Knicks like to talk so much about religion, but I think the Lord was a Raptor fan."
Almu, the most you are saying is Horry will come to play in the playoffs for a title contender. He is a classic journeyman who rides out the regular season. I'll take Chucky Brown for the minimum. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited May 19, 2001).]
Another thing here Almu, just so I can jab at your anti-Rudy philosophies....Rudy was the man who showed a reluctant Horry and the world how to use a 6'10" leaper/finesse guy to play against the best power forwards ever. And let's not forget to add Rodman to the list against San Antonio, 'eh Almu. So, had Rudy never adjusted moving Horry to PF right in the beginning of the '95 playoffs in a brilliant fashion, does Phil Jackal ever consider this?
HeyP, what the hell are you talking about? Anti-Rudy T philosophies? Why? Because I say that he runs too many ISO's for my taste? Oh, because I state an opinion I am anti-Rudy? Or is it because I don't want Cuttino getting so many plays called for him by Rudy T because I feel he is so streaky? That makes me against his philosophies? First time I ever say this about anyone on this board in 4 years, but you have the honor of being the first: You are an IDIOT if you think I am anti-Rudy or his philosophies. Because I state that I don't like the ISO's does NOT mean I am against what he teaches. Get a freakin clue, Sweet Pee. For the other guys, thanks for the info. ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx [This message has been edited by Almu (edited May 19, 2001).]
Nice pent-up swingin jab back...almu... Allow me to re-use your quote, mr 4 year vet of the BBS: "First time I ever say this about anyone on this board in 2 years, but you have the honor of being the first:" Lesson #1: Challenging heypartner...beyb...heyIsuck...whatever...to basketball analysis about Rudy using ISOs and spacing for spot up 3s is best done without first mentioning Robert Horry as someone you want on the team... [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited May 20, 2001).]
Pee, I admire that you know soooooooooo much about basketball that you feel I can't challenge you. I am asking a simple question. My apologies if I disturbed your realm of knowledge. I don't see where I challenged you, but Lordy forbid if anyone does. The problem with you is that you think your basketball knowledge is so far and above everyone elses on this board that you are becoming what people here in NYC call full of s**t. I have noticed the minute anyone says anything, you jump in with your overanalyzing, over the top breakdowns that a simple post damn near becomes a lesson in nuclear physics. What makes you think me asking a question is challenging your knowledge, analysis, manhood, womanhood, or ithood or whatever? Again, my question was in general and not directed to you, but if you feel I am "challenging your basketball analysis", then I apologize. May I suggest that you try and come down from that perch you think you are on before you one day fall and break a nail? Again, let me apologize for disturbing and challenging you oh high and mighty Pee. I will never ask such a silly, meaningless question again if I can control myself. ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx [This message has been edited by Almu (edited May 20, 2001).]
NOT FOR HEY PEE...we don't want to disturb the King. If he has an option for each of those years, that means after each year, he can become a free agent if its not picked up, correct? What is usually the deadline? If that is the case, why is it I never hear him as a possible free-agent like Allan Houston who also had an option on his contract? Or is it that its a given that his option is automatically picked up by the Lakers? And as Tacoma asked, is it player or team option? ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx
Unless you are Lennox Lewis LMAO ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Pee, why don't YOU back off. You are the one that started your "I know more than you" attitude. I don't care what system Rudy runs. If I don't like it, I don't like it. Period. But his philosophies in general? Give me a freakin break. I am 95 percent with the man in everything he is ever done for this team. One post about Mobley that you don't agree with and I am against his philosophies? I will be the bigger man and "back off" because I am not going to risk getting banned just to make your breakdown your knowledge ego. But like I suggested, get off your high knowledge horse. You aren't as smart or analytical about basketball as your ego lets you think you are. Analyze this! ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx
Almu, I said "jab at your anti-Rudy philosophies". Why read that has anything more they playful ribbing looking for a debate. Just answer me this, why does that call for a 4yr Moment from you? Clear overreaction with something pent-up about me having an ego. Sorry that my personality is to attack overreaction like that with absurdity to get further reactions. (Uh, like I really meant Lesson #1 for anything other than adsurdity.) I didn't quite expect you to play the ego card. Yeah, you are the bigger man. I bow to your ability to understand other posters. "risk of getting banned" ... what is that?!
And show a little decency when you attack another poster on a personal level... Explain to me where I "started this I know more than you do attitude", anymore than dozens and dozens of posters do in the Hangout demanding people to explain themselves. BBall is a different topic, but I talk as civil about it as DREAMer and Clutch do religion. yeah Clutch has an ego if he questions someone's knowledge of Christianity. Go ahead Almu, lay the stigma-ta on me that I am an egotist. *ouch, it hurts me*...my poor moniker will be ruined.
Almu, what the hell happened today man? Did someone not drive the second the light turned green? ------------------ women love me, fish fear me.
Damn, what thread have you been reading? lol! ------------------ NBA Draft Lottery is May 20th. Start praying now.
