I own NBA2k3, and it's alright, but kind of boring, as I haven't played it in like 2+ weeks. I just rented NBA Live, and it was horrible. Were they trying to re-create NBA Jam? No defense, and way too many fast breaks. I guess the other games that are out are Inside Drive and Starting 5. Anyone played those yet?
NBA Street is pretty fun head to head. The game is multiplatform. It's been out for awhile so you can get it cheap.
I bought NBA Street a while back and it's fun... it's not a realistic sim if that's what you're looking for.
Last year's Inside Drive was good, but I had to go with 2K3 this year, because I can play in with XBox Live. Konami's Starting 5, Id say give it a rent first. I loved Konami's NBA In The Zone when it was on Playstation, hours of fun on that game.
They make good football games, they make good baseball games; hell....they even make fun soccer and hockey games, but I have yet to find a realistic, fun, basketball game. Some of the crazy, un-realistic ones are fun, but I don't know if they can make a fun, realistic basketball game for any console.
i read a review of inside drive on ign i think it was. the reveiwer kind of summed it up as less sim than 2k3 but more than live. a medium of the 2. however it also got a lower scorer than both of the other ones. i'm looking to rent it but i haven't seen it at blockbuster. actually i didn't even see it a best buy so it might not be out yet.
I too like inside drive a lot. Even tho it has more of an arcade feel, it also feels more like a real game. The players get hot and cold and despite this, you feel like you control the shot a lot more. It was a really nice game. They didn't have a draft section last year, but I still liked the game a lot. Even more than 2k3.
yeah, it seems like it should be. i'm gonna have to check hollywood video if another blockbuster doesn't have it.
