The West[ern Conference] as a whole won 266 out of 420 games vs the East (63.3%) in 2003-2004 season. Previously, it won 250/420 games (59.5%). Yes!

In this season, the 8 teams in the West[ern Conference] play-offs have a combined W-L record of 416/656 (63.4%).
For the past season, it was 421/656 (64.2%). No on this count.

Midwest Div won 41 more games, 347/574 (60.4%) vs 306/574 (53.3). All teams have winning records. All other divisions are below .500 collectively. Hence, it's more accurate to say that the midwest division is most dominant for the 2003-2004 regular season.

i think it is unbelievable how much more dominant the west is over the east. last year it was bad, but now Memphis and Denver also became a great team. The only teams in the east that would even make the play-offs in the west are Indiana, and maybe detroit and maybe NJ. but NJ didn't play good this year. so i'm not sure abut them. if you look at winning percentage only the suns and clippers woudn't make the play-offs in the east. and teams in the west have more difficult schedule, because they play west team 4 times and east teams only 2 times.

Detriot and Indiana are considered underdogs. Indiana's frontcourt is undermatched against San Antonio's, Lakers or the Kings. Detroit can put up a good fight with their 3 big men, but personally, I don't see them winning a 7 game series against the mentioned three.
