Assuming there are no problems and they draft Ming as planned, of course. The elements seem to be there: - Post players comfortable working from the high-post, solid ball-handlers as well - Tempers the need for a 'pure' PG - Potential dominant C (no, I haven't seen him play in person, hence my use of potential) Thoughts?
The triangle requires that your 1, 2, and 3 know how to pass the ball. Steve is fine, but Cat and whatever quadriplegic we have at the 3 barring a trade will have no clue. Cat only passes when the ball is stolen from him by a teammate and Rice or TMo don't have a clue. Rice has been in the triangle before, but I think he's too old and fragile to run in any form of offense anymore. My main concern is Cat's passing or lack thereof. If we draft a guy at the 3 that can pass the ball extremely well it could be doable, but I think Rudy is more of a pick n roll kind of guy. Ming and Franchise would be great as a pick n roll duo.
No because as the poster above me noted, it involves talented passers. We have dribblers that would rather try to split in between 2 defenders.
