all i know is moses malone is trying to work with yao ming. and if the rumors are true, hakeem also wants to teach yao a thing or two. its just rumors though, i hope it happens.
if bill russell can teach yao how to win 11 championships in 13 years, I may think hireing him is a good idea.
Last time I heard about it was two weeks or so ago. Some Chinese reporter did ask CBA officals whether it was true that Bill Russel want a job on the NT, specificlly, to coach Yao Ming. CBA said it is looking for a couple of NBA assitant coaches for NT's summer trainning.CBA confirmed that Rusell sent application, but they didnt elaborate on whether CBA is going to accept Russel. CBA just told the media that it is a possiblity and Russel is just one of the candidates. The media spectulation was that it's hard for CBA to get a position for Bill in NT without naming him the head coach. It will make the current head coach Jiang XinQuan's job difficult if Bill's hanging around daily. Russel expressed no interest in coaching Chinese NT so far.
