oeilpere has been saying that it is looks like it might be a steal for us, that we might not have to give up equal value. NJ wants to deal. I think what he is saying is probably based on KVH being an expensive misfit for Marbury. They've had some bad luck with injuries, but you have gotta think that that organization is expecting more wins NOW!

Our advantage in NJ is Shandon, our draft picks and our cap space. We have ways to steal KVH "value-wise" without leaving NJ with proven junk players.

heypee-Gasol is a SF better than Langhi, according to ESPN, you'd lose.

But Gasol won't be in the league until another year after this upcoming season. So I guess he wouldn't be ahead of Langhi for this upcoming season.

    The espn mock draft
    the cnnsi mock draft, and
the nbadraft mock draft are all showing us with three picks.

According to cc.net front page, that is not official, yet. Or did I miss another memo.

btw: note that those three mock drafts have me winning the bet heading into the free agent season.

    hehe

    • If a 3rd PG isn't on the roster, I lose my moniker, or
    • If a new SF unseats Langhi, I lose.
    • But, if a 3rd PG makes it, and Langhi is not unseated, you lose.

oooh, make that 4 mock drafts that have me leading the bet heading into the FA season.

Of course, oeilpere's NJ rumblings have us solving the SF position in a blockbuster, later in the Summer.

moe19, didn't you want to bet with us? I thought you wanted a new moniker anyhow.

Maybe, but you think Langhi still doesn't get the first shot over an 18th pick. That is not like Rudy. Langhi has to be soundly beaten in camp. I win if Langhi gets first shot. Combine that with Doc Partner saying we are looking to trade picks and likely keep just one. That one appears to most definitely be a PF/C as first choice by 5 gurus to date.

Doc clearly saying we want to move up badly, doesn't that tell us we are looking to get into that area of PF/C's better than Bradley. MManal and 4 pro gurus have us taking a C or Gasol (who probably can't play in the US next year).

I think I survive the draft day pretty well. It is the oeilpere talk that has me most likely to lose, and the damn Shandon stuff that happened after we made the original bet.

HeyP, or anyone else, what is fair value for KVH? If this trade involves Shandon, as I think it must, are we talking Shandon/Cato (I wish) or Shandon/Walt/KT...?

Seems like we're trying to draft a prospect center (DeSagana Diop?) and put him behind Marc Jackson or Hakeem (if he returns), then trade for KVH.

Would Joisey want Cato? Two zone- (and cap-) busting shot blockers? Or does the Walt scenario work better?

ROX, I would think Cato may have some value for them, unless they get a Center for the draft that could contribute now.

Maybe they would be interested in a Center with one of our later picks instead?
