I heard Joe Johnson and Jacobsen won't be picked up by the Suns.

And I heard Parker might not resign w/ the Spurs! Supposedly the Spurs won't pay a penny over $64M, and Parker wants more.

I am AMAZED that Joe Johnson's option was not picked up. Very odd.

I am guessing that the Rockets WONT pick up Nachbar's extension.

I believe in that too. Except if we're planning on trading Boki. by the way, is also tom the deadline of tmac's extension ?

yeah, i'll believe that when i see it. No way the Sunds don't pick up hs option.

However I can easily see boki's option not being picked up. I think JVG has given him good opportunities, but they guy just can't shoot.

CBA is up this year, and it may be coming down.

I think teams are willing to take the risk that they can save some money by not signing their players.

The Suns don't need him. They just gave a BIG contract to Nash and Quentin Richardson (who is a lot like Johnson). Marion has the max and Stoudemire will require about the same.

Joe Johnson is a good player and will proabably get a nice size contract from somebody else.

Still, the guy is an assett. Plays 2-3 positions and is pretty well rounded.

If you believe in Quentin over this guy, then fine, but you don't let him walk for nothing. Pick up his option and then trade him to fill holes on your roster.

Joe Johnson's option is not an issue. This coming year is the option year. The Suns just aren't giving him a contract extension because he is asking for $10 MILLION a year.

I think it is obvious that the Suns will have to trade/or lose either Joe Johnson or Shawn Marion. Clearly their two Max players are Nash and Stoudamire and they just signed Q. They cant keep 3 max people so I think Marion is the odd man out eventually. I am sure they will look to try to move him for a servicable center.

Id think Joe Johnson would be good trade bait so they would pick up his option even if they have no future plans for him.

I was really impressed with Rodney White and Dermarr Johnson in the Denver game last night. If only Boki could play like those guys, there would be no discussion if the Rockets would pick up his option. The Rockets need to do a better job evaluating talent when it comes to drafting players.

Don't get me wrong, Johnson is a real nice player. But I think the Suns would rather let him walk with his $10M/year contract. They could use that $$ for whatever other re-signings they need to do and get a center.

I just don't understand why the Suns would let Johnson go. I'm sure during the McGrady talks, they had somewhat of an idea that they'de be targeting Quentin Richardson and Steve Nash in free agency. They refused to include Joe Johnson in the deal with Marion and Jacobsen. Had they thrown him in, I'm sure they would have gotten McGrady. Same goes for Indiana. Why did they just give Al Harrington away in the Stephen Jackson deal? They could have just signed Jackson outright and if they didn't want to keep Harrington, traded him for something. Some of these moves puzzle me.

As for Boki, I'de be shocked if they picked up his option.

    Guys,

Even if their options are not picked up the team still has a right to match any offer they get.
