Good as in service, plans, or cellphones, or all of the above?

I personally use ATT wireless which I think is the best.

I am SUPER freaking happy with their service so far. I have had them for about 6 months now and have never had a dropped call. I know it's hard to believe. Another reason is that they are loyal to customers almost to a fault. I had a T 68i phone and it kept turning itself off. I called and they sent me another one, even though I didn't buy it from them, I bought it at Amazon.
Then the new one started doing it. And they sent me another new one.
When it did a third time I said I wanted a different model. I said I wanted a Nokia 3595, they said OK $ 130. I said I would think about it. I called the next day and said I wanted to cancel my service unless I got a new Nokia. They caved IMMEDIATELY.
I got the Nokia 3595 and didn't like it. I called and said I wanted a 6610 instead (a $300 retail phone) they sent me that one for $30.
I'm as happy as a little grrrl.

BTW I dumped AT & T because the phone didn't work in my new neighborhood.

Watch out for their phones. My girlfriend got one, but the battery went out within 2 months. She took it back to the store, but they didn't have any more of that model. They told her she could buy another for $200. Luckily they refunded for her old phone, but still....they sold a defective part and she had to pay for a new one?!?!?!?!?!

If you live in Memorial, don't bother with it.

All. Well, scratch that...I already know what plans they offer.

I haven't had any trouble with them. That don't have as much coverage as some of the others, but then you pay a high premium to make calls from out in the sticks. If you're in a major metropolitan area or along a major corridor you should never have any problems. I've had the same experience as Mulder. I called and complained about my phone (screwed up and bought a Samsung....just 'cuz they can make good monitors does NOT mean they can make a good cell phone). Anyway, they told me they'd sell me any phone at their promotional new plan rate...which means several new phones were actually free.

The best part about them is that you just can't touch their prices. My plan is nationwide, but my wife's is Texas and something like four or five of the surrounding states. She gets 3000 any time minutes a month for $49. You just can't beat that.

Been using it for the past 3 years, through 4 phones (cause I wanted to upgrade not because the phone died on me) and have no complaints at all.

I've had T-mobile for the past 2 years, and don't have any complaints. The prices are awesome, and I never have any dropped calls.

I've been with them since they were Aerial. I have to say even though they have some problems there no where as near as problematic when I had sprint. I get most of my calls and my voicemails within a timely manner. I've been with them at least 4-5 years and I can say I'm satisfied. Plus the phones are sim cards so when you get bored of one phone you can always buy another gsm phone and swap out :)

I've had just the opposite experience as Mulder. My phone has started turning on and off, and it loses the signal about 3 or 4 times a day and I have to restart the phone to get it back. I've called the customer support numerous times about it but they refuse to do anything. Needless to say I'm about to switch to another provider because of this. I would never recommend it to anyone, but it looks like not everyone has had my same experience. Good luck.

I doubt it's the provider...I had that problem with my first Nokia 3390. Then I left my sunroof down one night while getting really drunk and it got rained on so I had to send off for another. Since then I've never had those kinds of problems.

But T-Mobile is the best regular provider (Non-PCS/walkie-talkie crap) in my opinion. I got a good deal to start off with and then my friend who had a hookup at AT&T got a better deal, so I told them about it - no haggling, I just told them when I had to call in once - and they gave me an even better deal. Right now I'm getting 600 anytime minutes, unlimited night and weekends, unlimited text and AOL instant messaging, no long distance charges, zero roaming charges EVER...for $35.99/month. Add a signal as good or better than anyone else can offer, and I ask you:

    Is T-Mobile any good?

If you don't mind GSM, they're ok, I suppose. But you may want to tell everybody where you live because asking somebody in Houston what T-mobile is like up there when you may live in El Paso or San Antonio is almost pointless. Coverage, reception, and service to an extent varies from place to place.

I'm thinking about switching from AT&T's TDMA service to TMobile's GSM service, but I'm still looking into it. Also looking into getting a good cheap phone, which is holding me up. :)

My question is ... can you program any SID into your phone and still get service? When they say no roaming, is that on their networks? Or AT&T, Verizon, Cincular, and/or Sprint towers?

My plan is 1000 local, 100 total freedom, guarenteed no roaming on ANYONES tower, unlimited nights/we's, unlimited m2m, no long distance /w free txt message, mobile web for 39.95.

The beauty is that I can program any SID into my phone (whover has the best reception in the area) and get the best service.

I've been using T-Mobile with my Nokia 3650 for the past couple of months. So far, I'm pretty satisfied.

I live in Austin, and I tried to switch to T-mobile from my Cingular service. It had terrible reception and dropped lots of calls at my apartment (near Enfield and Exposition) and it also couldn't get a signal at the UT Physical Plant (next to Disch Falk). I just returned the phone and went back to Cingular rather than try dealing with it. On the other hand, I have friends in Houston that use it without complaint.

BTW, I was using it with the free Samsung phone they offered.
