Ok I was just trying to hear what people on the board think. Steve Kerr just went on a rant about how TMac is just a regular allstar he is not a superstar in this league. I just want to know do you guys feel this way or is Kerr off.
Kerr was referring to what superstars do when they're on a bad team (apparently, they still persevere), and what just all-stars do on a bad team (they get frustrated... like T-mac). I would like to see Kerr give an example of which Superstar he saw on a bad team that never complained, and continued to bring it every night as if it was the playoffs.... cause if that player existed, his team wouldn't be so bad in the first place. In other words... its a flawed argument.
Its Steve Kerr... By him the only superstars are Shaq, KG, TImmy and Kobe... I dont think drive is the only think that makes a superstar or Mark Madson would be the best player EVER!!!

if Tmac played in NY or LA, he'd be considered a superstar. I'm not slighting Houston in any way - it's a great city - just not as big.
it is about T-Mac so I think it stays but IMO Tim Duncan is a superstar and so are Shaq and KG but I just don't think Kobe falls into that category
TNT always seems to hate on the Rockets. Both Kenny Smith and Charles said that T-Mac is NOT a superstar only an All-star. In fact Kenny even named the 6 players he felt were superstars (Shaq, Kobe, Kidd, Iverson, Duncan, and KG). I have no idea how players like T-mac and Dirk get placed below Jason Kidd and especially below Allen Iverson. Kenny's reason for not putting T-mac in that list was because his team was not consistently above .500 but neither are Kidd's or Iverson's teams.
i would've said there were only 5 superstars a few weeks ago but i have to add a 6th at this point. shaq duncan kg kobe tmac and now lebron and i would put the big men slightly above the 3 perimeter guys right now. dirk i think is the closest to being a superstar but not being one.
You know your'e a superstar when you are "struggling" and still some how you manage to score 27 pts, and dish out 6 assists.
That looks right on. Lebron and TMAC just need to win a playoff series (as primary players) to solidify their reputation. Then guys like Kerr will shut up.
Lebron is a superstar. To take the Cavs to the 2nd best record in the East in his 2nd year?? That's outrageous.
kenny smith's arguments for what defines a superstar were full of holes. Although, I liked that he did keep the numbers limited. The inclusion of iverson and maybe kidd as a bit of a stretch though. iverson's made several trips to the lottery. kidd makes his teammates better. but does he have a greater impact on them than steve nash??? not many would consider nash a superstar. It's kinda of a conundrum. Once T-Mac has success in the playoffs, he'll be considered a superstar, even if he doesn't improve his game at all before he gets there. Basically, if he didn't get any better, and somehow lucked his way to the western conference finals (not saying he would need luck, just saying if) then people would praise his playoff performance and label him a superstar. Kind of like a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not necessarily a square. Does that make sense? I'll stop.
