As much as I hate saying this, I think that if Rudy does not change his ways we will never make the playoffs under his wings. It seems to me that Rudy does not seem to want to change the way we play our offense. After the champion years, he kept dumping the ball down low even though Hakeem and Charles were getting old and we had Pippen who likes to run. After we got Cuttino and Francis, he turned to the ISO, which worked for one year when we won 45 games. Then, this year he stayed with the ISO even though the league changed to zone defense. So, if this year Rudy is gonna keep trying to use posting-up and ISO than we will not make the playoffs. This team is suitable for a running team with big guys (Kenny, Ming, Griffin, Taylor, Cato) who are able to get up and down the floor. So, we have the talent, know it is up to Rudy to change his ways for us to make the playoffs.

No offense, 2003. I know you just registered, but this has been done to death. This year should tell the tale, re: RT. Last year didn't count. He was never able to field the same squad for even fifteen games in a row. Can't much work out a new offense when injuries force you to start every single person on the team at one time or another. This year will tell the tale.

I think such a club would be a real "hoot" or should I say "poot!" I can't say it would be a breath of fresh air, butt it may bring about winds of change. This is a serious matter.

Rudy has yet to prove that he can adapt his style of coaching to the new NBA rules. I think he deserves a mulligan for last year with all the injuries we suffered, but I think he gets two more years MAX to prove he can still get it done.

Thats excatly what I think. The ISO worked before the zone but its no longer effective. If we're still running that w/ a healthy team and we don't make the playoffs, Rudy is in trouble IMO.

Rudy is not the problem. Name a coach we could get who is better, AND has been as dedicated to his team as Rudy has been to the Rockets.

    I'll wait...

It's not the on court decisions, but the off court decisions that make me wonder if LA should shake up the front office/coaching positions.

    kelvin cato
    glen rice
    brent price

It seems for every smart move they also make a dumb one to cancel things out )

I agreed! plus the "in-and-out", "ISO" are so boring! I'd like to see a more exciting system this year. I also doubt Rudy's coaching ability when Dream Team struggle in Olympic games.

I think Rudy is trying to find systems to fit his best offensive players. (in&out for Charles, ISO for Cat.)
but I think a system is better if you can have all your players involved.

BTW, Rudy had to use the iso's last year due to injuries. He had another offensive plan, but was unable to use it due to the injuries to starters, such as Rice and Taylor early on and Steve later. Since he never had the team healthy enough to teach it,he just used the iso's instead. Not much you could make up during the season.

my post will start a war

the ISOS are done to keep mobes and francis and moochie from whineing like little kids and going elsewhere

steves right,he doesnt wan to play for a doghouse

i guess you guys have all forgotten what mobes said OUTLOUD

it was either on news or paper, but when we signed mobes in 2000,he said the reason he decided here instead of toronto was becuz he was promised the chance to run isos as much as he wanted to get his 20 ppg,(even though it makes the worst) so he can become a allstar

    steveand moochie ditto

why do you think steve is stalling, its becuz he wants to know the "direction" of team

what that means is,he wants hs isos so he can get his 20ppg and be a allstar and not have to dump it into ming all game

personally,we should trade all players who put numbers ahead of wins,

so trade mobes and thomas for odom,

then have the offense go through steve/ming like shaq/kobe

the lakers are proof you cant have 5 20ppg shooters and have everyone happy

    theeres only 1 ball

lewis would make this team even worse since he never passes

now,i know you guys hate pot smokers so you are to bach odom, but odom perfers passing instead of trying to jack up shots like mobes and steve

i love odom, and i think we are in for bad news next year

    steve and mcat wanted odom

    miller = steve

    if miller/odom go to finals,

steve will be wondering " why the hell didnt we trade for odom"?

lets hope the clippers suck other wise steve will be very pissed

    sorry for the mispelled words

and also, rudy is the most unimagintive coasch out there

i dont buy the " bad players like langi" excuse

watch the lakers or kings or mavs

there offense has 5 guys always moving

what do the rox do wehter they have hakkem or francis?

1 guys moves 4 others stand around

if you think rudy will somehow change this summer and all 5 guys will move in motion then you are in for a bad year and big surprise

my question is ,if rudy can change this summer, then why hasnt he over the 7 years? a team with barkely/pippen/hakeem/dickerson/mobely was standing still and not moving, you think now it will change? NO...NO...NO

Your not starting a war, fella, your not worthy.

Clutch should start putting a "Caution: Recycled Thread" designation by such as these. I'll look around for something worthwhile.

We will never know until we get a new one.

What we need is a guy who commands respect and doesn't put up with bull$hit. Rudy is too lax of a coach to be effective in molding young players into the best players they can be. Rudy's persona fits in well with veterans who don't need a kick in the pants.

With that having been said, I wouldn't mind if the Rockets hired Mr. Mean as head coach. I'd really like to see Francis or Mobley ignore what Mr. Means instructs of them.
