I don't know what you guys think; but after today's game, I strongly feel that this team and JVG has abandoned the playoff chance itself. They did not play tonight's game like a live-or-die playoff-series game, which they definitely should if they still have the desire to slip into playoff. Instead, what I saw is terrible last minute play, low energy for the whole team at clutch time, and giving up the game early with 5 points difference and 9 seconds (no foul play). I don't see a little bit of frustration on any players'/JVG's faces after losing this game (probably a pivotal loss for the playoff chase). I'd say the chance that Rox make playoff after this home loss is slim at best.

It really make me feel bad when we fans are here to calculate the odds of winning every and each single game that's left for this season and watch closely on peers like LAL/NOK/UTA/MIN everyday every game, while this Rox team itself seems they do NOT care that much if they make playoff or not.

Is this just my paranoia? Or anyone shares the same feeling?

I heard only Yao was trying to foul someone in the end. Was that true? If so, trade... Never mind. :p At least Yao is on his way to first double double average season. :D See, I am a bottle-half-full guy. :D :D

I think you're wrong about pressuming the players don't care, they clearly do. However, reality is players struggle all the time and have bad stretches during the long NBA season.

As for the coach, from some of the comments he's been making lately, I too wondered if he cares about the playoffs anymore, or if he's indifferent about it.

Anyways, it was and still is a steep hill to climb just to be in the playoff picture, we had very slim chance to begin with and with every loss it gets slimmer and slimmer.

I agree, this is horrible. How could we have lost that game? We demand better. Does Les Alexander have a daughter one of us could marry? I don't care if she's fat, I'd do it if it would yield us a chance at providing some quality input to make this team less of a joke.

I don't know how others see it, at least that's what I see. Yao's the one running hard trying to foul a guard, he caught him but a foul was not called. Other guards wasn't trying or running hard to get the foul. I've mentioned it in the game thread.

Yao totally hustled for a foul that wasn't called. If T-Mac thinks so much of Yao maybe he could back him up with some reasonable play or something. If this keeps up much longer we're going to have to endure jokes from Floridians. I am not okay with that.

Yao is playing harder than anybody on this team right now. Another step in his maturation process would be for him to look TMac in the eye and tell him to get his head out his ___ and get it in the game and hold his teammates accountable for lackadasical effort.

i don't think tmac played bad against sixers. He didn't have superstar performance, but it aint bad. 9-20FG, 3-6 3pt are not bad at all. Plus he had 7 ast and 7rb. We lost this game mainly due to poor 3-pt shooting and it does NOT include tmac. So tmac is definately getting better.

Our guards totally cost us that game last nite. T-mac looked like he was heading for a special game and might have had one if he would have gotten the ball more.

As tigermission said above the because of the injuries and our horrid start the playoffs were a long shot but I still expect this team to play as hard as possible for the remaining games.

Can anyone explain what goes on inside JVG's coconut head during the game? Last night, Chuck Hayes was doing good and pulls him out and puts Juwannaman, who cannot D-up anyone. Howard can't guard a guy thats unconscious. JVG IS SUSPECT...

Whenever I listen to interviews or read transcripts online, the only one I ever hear or read talking about playoffs and the possibilities of making it is RA12 a.ka. skip-to-my-lou. Makes me kind of wonder.

As far as JVG goes, I honestly think he just wants the Rox to play consistent basketball with maximum effort especially on D. He doesn't worry about what other teams are doing so long as the Rox are taking care of their end b/c other teams' fate is not in his hand (unless the rox are facing them). His thinking is also probably if the Rox have to depend on other teams to lose for the them to make it (and we can't even beat an average team in the 76ers) maybe we don't deserve to make it! I am sure he would rather not make the playoffs than get creamed and humiliated by Dallas or San Antonio in the first round.

I am sure he would rather go up against the mavs or spurs than sit at home.

Yao is clearly the only one on this team who is still fighting.

JHow is the better scorer. If we leave hayes in the game, we have a big offensive hole.

    Is that so?

    You do the math:

    Chuck Hayes 53% FG
    Juwan Howard 46% FG

    53 > 46

Only thing Juwan can do is shoot the jumper IF no one is within 5 feet from him. When he is covered it is most probably either a turnover or a clanker.

Give me Hayes, his high FG%, and his hustle anyday!

You have to look at the number of attempts. If i shoot 2 free throws and make both (100%), am i better than yao who is 80% (1,246-1,548).

The rockets problem is we don't have players with an all around game.

welsey can hit 3's, but is too short to guard anyone
    bowen hustles but nvm
hayes rebounds but doesnt have a reliable jumper
bogan defends but cant hit any shots when needed
swift is athletic but only knows how to dunk
tmac is an allstar but is a lil girl emotionally. ;)

Ryan Bowen gave Juwan a copy of the pictures he has on Gundy....

and I do agree Hayes was doing great. Both times he was in we outscored the 6ers.

Then Juwan came back in and we fell apart both times.....

Correlation - correlation? (correlation????) BTW Juwan has a pretty big negative roland rating on 82games.com, about 12-13 pts below Hayes' positive one.

By that logic we should have kept Barry and canned Rybo....

But your Juwan/Hayes thingy - look at 82games.com then get back to me.
