http://blogs.chron.com/sportsjustice/archives/2008/07/character_sudde.html he compares ron artest to miguel tejada? god i hate his columns more and more.
i don't think he knows anything about basketball. justice is like a grandfather who should be retiring already
he doesn't like artest's past and it is a perfectly fine opinion to have. artest is a questionable guy off the court that is for sure. if justice wants to pan the move because the guy has had his issues then he certainly has a basis for doing so.
i never liked the guy's articles. as t_mac1 said: i dont think he knows anything about basketball ... 100% agree. his concerns are understandable but the way he writes makes it seem like he's never wrong.
Haven't read anyone I like who does basketball for the Chronicle. They used to have this chart of the big 3 (Barkley, Olajuwon, Drexler) that was kind of cute though. Houston Post, Houston Post, Houston Post, chant it Red Rowdies
Comparing the Tejada trade to the Ron Artest trade is very stupid and no where near the truth. Astros don't have pitchers, Rockets have everything (except a superstar pg). Astros werent a playoff team, rockets are. Baseball is a defensive game, Basketball is mostly offensive. I agree with him on his past, i am skeptical myself about that. But he seems to be past the big trouble times and he is a legit superstar. This is no Scottie Pippen either. Artest never had a MJ so he had to be the Batman and not the robin pretty much his whole career i believe.
It's about time a Houston team quit stocking GOOD GUYS and went with a BEAST. Let YaO and Tmac do the milk commercials...your enforcer and rebounder should crap nails. Who cares if the guy robs 7 elevens and punches old lady's....as long as he rebounds and scores on the floor...that's what I'm concerned with. Let HPD del with him (if needed) when he leaves the arena. Or we can shackle him like Hannibal Lecter after games. I am kidding...but I'm glad we picked the guy up...I think if handled properly he will result in a Championship
I don't think he knows anything about any sport. He just likes to run his keyboard off. He also contradicts himself alot. First he doesn't like our teams, then he does. He's a bandwagon columnist. Sometimes I begin to read an article in the sports section, and the more I read, the more ridiculous I think it is. Then I scroll back up and see his name under the title. Then I think "Of Course."
