Why not get Pops Mensah-Bonsu back? He is currently in the Euroleague but I'm sure we could buy out his contract. Just send Taylor back to the D-League and we would have an open roster spot. He is the type of player we need right now. One who can block some shots and slam the ball home when around the rim. Something Jeffries is not capable of doing, he won't even dunk it when he is directly under the rim. Pops or no Pops? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ERdS1rSRD0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ERdS1rSRD0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Nah Jeffries is better. JJ probably plays more minutes this season than Pop playing in his whole NBA career.
Just to clarify, players in the D-League count against your 15 man roster. Sending Taylor down doesn't open up a roster spot.
Well, can you explain this figuring something out? Honestly, what does getting Pops do for us in the long term anyways? < Good. >
Pops has been passed around more than a hooker, that tells you something. All that talent and no NBA contract? Surely he cant be such a sure bet that every GM has passed on him. Plus im sure DD loves him to death so thats an auto-pass.
Who said anything about signing him for the long term? Just give him a deal for the rest of the year.
And get rid of who? Pretty much everyone on the roster has some long-term potential, whether it is development or simply an expiring to trade (Andersen might be the lone exception, but even he is an expiring next year and we're not dumping him for Pops). Pops have none of that, and we're not sacrificing short-term wins for the long term stuff of developing and getting things to trade. < Good. >
Ill pass on pops cause honestly he'll get you the exciting block but he will also give up the easy lay up which is what happened when he went in the game and why he lost his chance on the rockets. Also there is the fact that players like him who are desperate for playtime tend to try too hard which is always painful to watch. example hilton armstrong? yeah lets just cut him now.
No! Keep playing JJ to inflate his value to be a part of a S&T this summer. We have to make it LOOK LIKE he can be a useful player. We are keeping Hill for ourselves, so no one really needs to know what he can do or get any film on him cause then they will be asking for him instead of JJ. The way DM keeps raping these other gms, one of them will say well he got playing time with them under DM, so it must be something good about his game.
The only reson JJ hasnt been past around, is because of his contract. Pops is way better, and will dunk down low unlike JJ. JJ misses every lay up he puts up.
