The parents of a 7 yr old had her go under the knife to make her ears look pretty. Do you think it's going too far? If it was my child, I would do it, too. I would never want my child to be bullied for their ears. http://news.yahoo.com/video/health-15749655/bullied-child-gets-plastic-surgery-24902719
Well it looks like they chopped off most of her hair for the surgery and hence, the awkward look. Surely they could have just tied it back right? As far as the topic at hand, I feel like this example is in that gray area between a deformity and an unusually-shaped feature. I think most people would be fine with plastic surgery for deformed ears; however, for simply big ears... well, I think it would be healthier for the kid to learn to live with it. Though, this particular case seems to be somewhere in the middle, so I'll err on the side of not passing judgement.
in her case i dont think it is going to far - they were fixing an extremely abnormal pair of ears caused by medical problems/birth defects. it doesnt seem like it was medically necessary, but to me her situation is beyond superficial - those ears were messed up! its not like they were just a little big or stuck out a bit - they were all over the place. and she seemed happy w/ the end result so good for her!
My daughters friend had one when she was like 12 or 13 years old...Her ears were the issue as well... I thought it was too young at that age, so 7 is definitely too young...
Thank you for your concern, but you should probably save it for your ugly children. Okay, leaving now! It's all yours!
I'm almost certain that you're one of biggest nerd bombers on this site. Keep up with your tired schtick, buddy.
