I think we must win 5 of our next 6 games, with the loss likely being Thursday at Dallas. Not to be a debbie downer, but playing a team that's been our nemesis this year, is 25-3 at home, and on the second night of a back-to-back spells the end to our streak. But we need to bounce back and take the next four - taking us to 44-21 - a very nice record. The best winning percentage we'll obtain. Becuase at that point, starting on march 16th we have the toughest 5 game strech in years. We could easily go 0-5 To get a top seed, we'll need to go 2-3 at the very least: LA Lakers - loss Boston - loss @New Orleans - win @Golden State - loss @Phoenix - win That's what I expect. Thoughts?
Why do you expect us to lose to the Lakers and Boston at home when the Rockets are just mauling people at home?
It's just hard to believe we can beat those teams without Yao. I mean, I just can't. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I just can't get my hopes up.
That is a brutal stretch, but, overall, this team is clicking with excellent teamwork, decent shooting, and solid defense. Our lack of size will eventually catch up with us, no doubt. I like the team dynamics right now. They may go 0-5 in mid March, that is why they have to win as many as they can now. If the Rockets go 5-0 in the next five, the mid March tumble won't seem as bad. Look what Denver has coming up.
I think we can beat all five of them if they keep up the good play. We know we can beat Boston (Only lost by 4 without Tmac), New Orleans, and Golden State.
it is the strech that will define the team heading into the playoffs in my opinion. right now, there's a certain roll of the eyes about the rockets streak in that it's against softer competition minue yao. even denver has a losing road record. 15 in a row is impressive, but not defining quite yet.
Seriously, this couldn't have waited until at least AN HOUR after we won our 15th in a row? And, the Dallas game is not on the second night of a back-to-back is it? We play Indiana on Tuesday, not Wednesday, right?
u do know we nearly beat boston and had adelman kept yao on the bench and remain small, we would have won. with this lineup, we can beat boston. idk about the lakers though but we'll see. if our D is good, we'll stay in the game. its all up to tmac from there.
This isn't a negative thread. Our win streak will come to an end soon. The question is now that we have a tough schedule and going to be tested, what do people think will happen.
yeah, we'll definitely make the playoffs simply because we're better than Denver and Portland. But I don't think anyone knows if this team is good enough to advance past the first round yet.
as much as we'd all love to believe, the rockets arent going undefeated the rest of the season. the bubble may burst sooner than expected with the mavs and hornets right after each other.
