The way he is playing now he is better than most in the league. The only problem with him is that he completely disappears from time to time. Early in the season he disappeared for 3 or 4 games and the Mavs got blown out of every one. I think one of those games was against the Rockets. The other night against Minnesota he disappeared again. He gets sick ALOT! BTW, I would like to thank the Rockets for kicking Wally and Company's a s s the other night. Maybe the Mavs can return the favor!

I saw Nowitzki drop 40 on the Nets live and in person. He was AWESOME! The thing is, like the poster above said, he totally disappeared in the 3rd quarter. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

I think Nowitzki is a top 5 player.

He needs to be more consistant and less of a revolving door on defense - at that point, he may be the best in the NBA.

Along with consistency, and a tad more defense - if he ever develops a consistent post-up game, he will be the most dominating player in the game.

    Nope.

I would say he has a claim to being as good/even with Webber, but Webber at least plays some solid defense.

Webber is also more of a force inside.

Skill-wise, Webber is the one PF who can match-up with Dirk. KG also to a certain extent.

Though Dirk has been on fire on the boards the last 2 games, he will need to be more consistent with rebounding.

The answer to the question is "no."

But, considering that Nowitski went straight from Germany into the NBA without college ball, he's waaaay ahead of where Webber was at the same stage.

    Nowitski's upside is sick.

Nowitzki is a bad ass mofo. Hell yeah he is better then Webber. I would rather have Dirk Diggler on my team anyday over that whining, timeout calling, attention craving, Loser Webber.

I totally agrea with KidRock. Webber is a bigger force inside, and has a better defence. Altough Webber has an offnight sometimes, but he's mostly very consistent and dominates inside. Dirk shoots better, but if i only look at the position PF i would say Webber is better. And someone who say's Webber is a loser is a loser himself, because there's no doubt Webber is a great player...

when dallas came here to chicago we watched them live, and i have to say, nowitzki gave me an impression that he was a dirty player. im not saying he is, but he elbowed tyson chandler in the face twice without getting a foul called, then stiff-armed whoever was guarding him.

i'm not saying he is a dirty player, but he looked like a three point shooting, faster karl malone out there.

Jello, give me a break! I watched that game in and I came away thinking that Cartwright was a dirty coach! He told his players to beat the hell out of Dirk. Cartwright just became coach and wanted to bring the physical play of the Knicks to Chicago. The next day was when Cuban questioned the league and its hard foul policy. Dirk was mauled in that game.

Also, five or six games after the Dirk beating was the infamous Shaq round-house game. Brad Miller and company was just carrying out Cartwright's new scheme. Dirk isn't dirty. He was just fighting fire with fire.

He's getting there but i would rather have Duncan, KG or Webber on my team. Webber is a better passer and defender, all together a better team player than Dirk. Yes Webber does play D maybe not quite as well as Duncan but a lot better than Dirk.

Webber is a horrible defender. Dirk isn't great, but he atleast may work on it. Webber on the other hand, has shown no interest in D.
