Haha... I just want to see what you guys think.

I personally agree with some of his analyses, but sometimes he overinterprets and is very arrogant in his reviews. Nonetheless I read his reviews whenever it comes out. So I voted mixed.

I'd sure he's a better movie critic than he would be a fashion critic

Count down to Nomar's retaliatory "Is yipengzhao a good thread poster? " thread begins now...

I think he is. He goes a tad overboard on getting upset at people liking what he doesn't and vice versa, but as far as the individual reviews themselves, I enjoy them.

Much better than I ever was! :D

BTW, I don't think it's fair to say he's a good critic based on whether or not you agree with his reviews or not. That makes you no better than what you criticize him for doing.

I don't agree with him all the time, but I still think his reviews are well-written and conceived.

Those of you who think his reviews are pretty good, could you point some of those out?

In all seriousness, I can't really remember anything that I'd call a review, but I may have developed "filters" that make me dismiss whatever he says. I only have visions of him spouting off on one subject or another. It may be that I've just missed them, or it may be that I've just stopped reading after the first sentence or two.....I honestly can't say for sure.

Point out some "reviews," and I promise to read them with an open mind.

I wouldn't worry about getting anyone's back, one of the mods appears to have edited the poll!

Since I am also in the anti-LOTR camp, the anti-Kill Bill camp and the anti-CA2 camp, I can't very well say a thumbs down from him means I definitely see the movie.

well i think movie critics need to be held accountable to the public's criticisms of the aptness of their critiques. i mean if they critique movies in a public forum, then the public should get to critique their critiques.

i definitely did not mean this thread to be a personal attack. i appreciate movies review threads.

I am definitely NOT a good thread poster. I don't think I've EVER come up with anything groundbreaking. Haha...

    Well.....

My critique of your critique about critiquing critiques is that you are on the right track. I'll pay attention to your movie critiques from now on. To hell with Nomar.

I want a critic with opinions and reasons to back them up (even if sometimes outlandish), thus Nomar gets a thumbs up.

Now his political comments (at least what I remember a year or so back when the political threads had less trolls and were more worthwhile to engage in)--good thing there is no poll about that. ;)
