At the end of the game when Kobe went up for the last shot Ginobili blocked him from behind. Kobe came down and slap Ginobili in the face. I dont' think this is an accident, I think kobe intentionally slap Genobili in the face. I don't like Genobili, I am glad that he hit in the face, I hate his flopping. This brought back the argument that Raja Bell said about Kobe during last year playoff. basically he said that kobe is a dirty player. to me for what he did to Genobili the ref should call a foul but I guess Kobe got the super star treatment.
I saw it, and I was thinking the same thing. Kobe is known for being a dirty player, it's nothing new... did u see the play where Horry shot a 3 and Kobe fouled him, and the refs didn't call it? Kobe had his tongue out and he had one ugly face expression to taunt Horry (commentators were like "kobe is messing with his old friend Horry", but I dont think it's a "old friend" issue) I hate Kobe, he is hands down my most hated player in the history of hte game of basketball. I used to hate Raja Bell, but he became my hero after he destroyed Kobe in the 05-06 playoffs and kicked his a$$ too (pushed him to the ground or something)..
personally, I dont' think that is unitentional, he came down with his arm side way. after a jump shot people either hold their arm up or pull it straight down not side way.
Looked like an accident. I don't think Kobe is dirty. Look at the players he's being "dirty" with: Ginobli and Bell. Those guys would piss anyone off. Who wouldn't want to get in a few blows? Kobe hasn't had any dirty plays, not even on Bruce Bowen, who's begging for it.
Regardless of whether it was intentional, I thought it was funny how the announcers said, "...and Kobe goes to check on Ginobili to make sure he's ok." after Ginobili went down. From the replays though, Kobe just walked away immediately after catching Ginobili in the face. You know you're a media darling when the announcers try to make you look classy.
Kobe is nowhere near bruce bowen or raja bell, but he does have some dirty plays. I still remember when he elbowed mike bibby in the face a few years back in the playoffs. The kings had to use their last timeout to stop the bleeding, and they ended up loosing.
Kobe has that attitude of I'll get mine even if it means whacking a few in the way...he has that sense of entitlement that he should be able to whack a few and get away with it since he's the superstar, remember the fight with Chris Childs, KB thought since Childs was a lesser player he would step down from Kobe, wrong, and also remember the whack against Mike Miller and the half hearted attempt to look concerned for him, he made a comment afterwards about him getting hard fouls and no calls. THe guy just has the attitude that since I'm the superstar I should be able to get away with a few chippy plays, he always carried that sense of entitlement around.
it's just nature's way of evening out. flop enough times, you're sure to get tagged with an elbow for real and no call.
Some people need to consider getting a life, rather than finding the smallest things to bash Kobe about.
I didn't see the play, but a lot of times, Kobe will flail his shooting arm sideways to draw some contact with his defender. Then he'll turn around and glare at the ref asking why he didn't blow the whistle.
Dude, Robert horry and kobe are still the best of friends. He was teasing him for the miss. Kobe usually trash talks when he wants to taunt someone, he doesnt poke his tounge out.
Since when is Kobe considered a dirty player? It's never said anywhere except for a select few of the guys on this very forum. Kobe is a passionate, aggressive, driven player and a lot of people have a problem with that. The last thing he is, however, is dirty. Everything he does is within the rules and he doesn't try to bend them. For dirty players, look to Bruce Bowen, Raja Bell, Stockton, all of these guys intentionally try to bend the rules at every opportunity and sneak in cheap shots when the refs aren't looking. If Kobe gives someone a shot, he doesn't try to sneak it by the refs or make sure nobody sees it. He just does it, and personally I don't have a problem with that.
