Keith is a do-it-all kind of player, he is good outside shooter, he can play both inside and outside, and most importantly, he can play DEFENSE(something the Rockets are badly lacking) I would trade anything (except Steve and Cat) for this guy. Rumors also have it that the Nets are willing to trade for a shooter(Rockets seem to have a lot of those).

Van Horn has nice game. But he is injured right now and who knows how he is. He has good size though.

Keith doesnt have good defense. Maurice has alot better than d than Keith. Keith has better range than Mo and can rebound alot better. Muggsy can actually do better than Mo. [IMG]

One thing I dont like about him is he is from utah. Which means he cant play for the rockets.!

    Well Francis,
Since only you and I are conversating in this topic, let me just say that Maurice just has offense(The Rockets have plenty of that in Steve, Cat and Mooch) We need DEFENSE, and yes, Keith has "D"!

Neither one has "D" worth mentioning.

Keith Van Horn would not be a smart acquisition at this stage for the Rockets. He has experienced major injuries during his career and is not a good defensive player. SFs are too quick for him and PFs overpower him. Offensively, Van Horn is a nice fit, but his salary which is the max would be a major burden on the Rockets.

The player the Rockets need and have targeted in the past is Austin Croshere. Croshere is a much better defensive player than Van Horn and really works hard and commits himself at that end. Aside from the offensive fit, Croshere brings a lot of intangible hustle, hard work and grit to the table that Van Horn doesnt. The only advantage I would give Keith over Austin is a better post game. Seeing how Croshere is not fitting in as well as expected with Isaiah's new regime in Indy, I wouldnt be shocked at all to see some trade talk for him in the offseason esp if Hakeem is interested in playing for Indy next season.

You know, I was on the Croshere bandwagon this summer, but he's really played poorly so far this year.

I figure it could be one of three things:

    1. He's just off to a poor start.
    2. He was just on a hot streak in the finals.
    3. He misses Larry Bird's presence... supposedly Bird really worked with Croshere.

Croshere would be a nice pick-up, but I'm not as certain as I was that he would serve as a PF of the future.

I would say "no" to adding Van Horn for the reasons mentioned by MManal. He's too slow at 3 and to weak at 4.

Croshere's current stats are very close to his last years season stats. This is not the Finals, the Pacers are struggling, and Isiah may be good for Jalen, Travis, and Reggie, but probaly doesn't match Bird for mentally motivating Croshere.

Van Horn has better numbers, but Croshere would fit the Rockets much better.

GATER: I'm not saying that Croshere is playing worse last year... but he wasn't given that fat contract for his play last SEASON. He got his free agent status because he kicked ass in the playoffs last year... and he hasn't played as well this year.

haven, I dont think its that Croshere's game has not improved by any means. Croshere just doesnt fit the current Pacers as he did the ones of last season. Jermaine O'Neal has become a major focus of their offense of late; I have noticed they dump it down to him a lot in the post now. Their offense doesnt flow as much as it used to, and Croshere does well when he can set screens and move w/o the ball. I feel that on a team like the Rockets, Croshere would be very productive; he just does not fit the new Indiana team very well. This is why I could very well see some trade talk for him at some point down the line.
