So I was bored and decided to read up a couple of realgm's articles for entertainment, and here's what I got from an article exploring trade possibilities the Knicks might have for JJ:

I don't watch the Knicks much, but really? Aside from the length JJ has, I would hardly call this hypothetical trade an upgrade talent-wise. Could some Knicks specialists enlighten me.

Guessing he only thinks Hayes can guard post players. Hasnt seen some of his work on switches and PnR showing that tends to give the ball handler fits.

No, but this is the trade I've been thinking the Rockets could go to if not moving Mcgrady to NY. This trade gives the Knicks what they desperately want, but I'd be looking to get a draft pick back in the deal.

Jeffries is the more versatile defender but Hayes is much better at his role. I would still say Hayes is the better defender, especially when talking about his IQ, charge taking ability and his ability to defend the pick n roll. Maybe I've watched a lack of Knick games, however one thing to point out is the Knicks are 2nd in the NBA at defending the 3 ball and I think Jeffries has a lot to do with that.

Length is a valued asset on defense, it makes shooting over you (one of the things a very select few have managed to get over on Chuck) tougher. Jeffries has it. Chuck Wagon doesn't.

Doesn't mean at ALL that the writer thinks he's a better defender, just that he can do things on defense that Chuck doesn't provide.

Jeffries can guard multiple position effectively on the perimeter. He's long and wiry, but has decent strength. Chuck is really good when guys try to post him up straight and he's good in space on pick and role,b ut jeffries can gaurd any position for the most part. He's a good player with a injury history.

IMHO you didn't read the article carefully enough. The last sentence says the writer thinks the trade talent-wise is a "wash", and that the Rockets would be stupid for making this deal. So he's not saying Jeffries is a better defender, in fact he says that although Jeffries is more versatile, Hayes is a better rebounder, so the the deal is stupid for Houston.

On a separate note, I find it idiotic to come up with trade ideas than destroy your idea in the very same article. Its like I'd write an article about "Houston thinking of trading Cook for Lebron and 100 draft picks", but then spend the entire article on why Cleveland won't do it. These writers should be shot for wasting my time

chuck wagon is without any doubt a better defender in the post ,but jeffries could play more position cause of his length, and this definitely makes him over hayes.

so if possible i would bring jeffries back to our squad
