The Texas Legends (Mavericks D-League affiliate) are lobbying Iverson to sign with them. Wow. So sad. http://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story...llas-mavericks-d-league-affiliate-sources-say btw: How's that for a Carl Herrera-esque thread title.
Honestly if you really are honest about it.. that's exactly what he was. Sort of like Kobe is without the luxury of having a ton of great bigs around him.
He did lead his team to the nba finals and the sixers dealt the Shaq/Kobe Lakers their only loss in the playoffs that year. So can't really say he was just a chucker.
ITT no one actually read heypartner's post because the title was too polarizing. Well played. As to the title: Yes Iverson is a legend.
He was one of the main reasons why I started to watch basketball. I was always one of the smaller guys in my age group, but had decent game. He was fearless and brought it every game. You're a legend in my book if you can lead the league in scoring at 6'0.
Awesome way to disqualify anything you say from here on. Whoever disagrees Iverson isnt a legend is off his rocker.
This. He was one of the main reasons I wanted to play basketball, and I tried to shape my game after him back then too.
People are so obsessed with 'efficiency' nowadays. Do you impact the game? That's what I want to know.
I think Iverson's contribution to the game in terms of impacting the sport makes him a legend. Just like Vince Carter.
Good Carl Herrera twist on this one! He's definitely in the "Legends" category on this one. One of the few true scorers of the game below the height of 6'. The guy that broke MJ's ankles in his rookie season, that led a team full of Kevin Ollie's, PJ Snow's, and Aaron McKie's to the Finals, that had everyone clamoring for his Questions! Even if he doesn't become a Texas Legend, he's absolutely an NBA Legend in my book.
