recently, one of my computer have been acting up , web pages are loading real slow, huge jump in cpu usage when opening browser. Tried Adaware-personal SE, spybot search and destroy, microsoft anti-spyware, tried full scan using Mcafee, nothing helped. Finally tried the 15 day trial super ad blocker and it found the suckers and removed them. I am just wondering is this one of the best spyware adware blocker for the money? It is on sale for 19.95 I think, or should I get some other better software?

Recently, my PC was going crazy with pop-up ads/spyware. I tried ad-aware, spybot, microsoft antispyware and Mcafee antispyware. Although they did detect alot of spyware, it would return minutes later until....

I purchased Webroot Spy Sweeper. It found over 500 traces of spyware and my PC has been back to normal ever since. I know this sounds like an ad for them but I don't care. :D

Every time my computer gets run over by spyware, I just format the hard drive clean.

Agreed. A friend of mine was having problems with spyware and he bought Spy Sweeper. It got rid of everything and his comp was back to normal.

You could learn to hunt down the programs yourself.

-Run msconfig and click on the startup tab. Turn off any programs that looks supsicious.
Next time you restart, if those programs are copied and turned on, check where the files are located and delete them....

-Another way to reduce bandwidth is to replace your HOSTS file with a blacklist of adsites.

-Enable cookies so that you have to add the sites you want to keep cookies with.

By then, you'll see a lot of error messages of ad-sites you've never heard of, but can't be sent through. After scanning with a ad-remover program (they remove ~90%)), you can then check msconfig (or even the Startup tab in your programs folder) for the remaining buggers.

EDIT: This doesn't remove registry files/cookies that some programs identify as adware. But those files doesn't slow down resources...
