With our beloved Rockets stuck in reverse, is it too early to look at who will be available at the top of next years' draft?

Barring a miracle turnaround this season, the Rockets should have enough ping-pong balls in the basket to ensure a very high slot in the draft next year. So...

    1. What are the Rockets' needs? (RMT sez BIG MAN i.e. CENTER so we can relegate Cato to the mob enforcer/casino greeter/Leon Lett business partner post-NBA career he is headed towards).

    2. Who would you like to see the Rockets draft? (RMT sez I HAVE NO CLUE)

    Opinions, please.

We're bad, but I think soon with Francis back, We'll fight to be in the middle of the lottery instead of at the top.

    I like Drew Gooden though...

We need to draft some wheels because right now they've all fallen off.

    Best Player Available.

I have no problems playing 3 guards.
So if the Rockets draft Williams or Ford, Francis can move to the 2.

If they draft a SG, he can split time with Mobley and Torres at the 2 or 3.

If they draft a SF, they get a SF.

If they draft a PF, he can play the 5.

If they draft a center, I'm sorry I don't believe in this mythical creature. I believe in Shaq. All other wanna centers are just PFs.

Chris Marcus is a great prospect whose stock will be down due to his injury this season. Still raw, yet still with talent and some polish to his game, he would be a solid mid-lottery pick for any team in need of a center.

Great work ethic, great size, and probably a darn good center in the NBA for years. A much safer pick than Ming, in my opinion, but not worthy of a top 3 pick.

If the Rockets were up there, I'd look at Jason Williams, though he reminds me a good bit of Francis. One would have to go if that deal was made. Around pick 5, I think the team would look at Dunleavy - he may be slightly overrated, but he's a pretty good shooter and a pretty athletic kid. Tall, too. Not sure he's as good as Bird, but he's as good as Mike Miller was/will be.
